A "favourite game by software house x" might be a good one. Unless everyone is fed up with polls...
I agree, a good idea for a new series of polls.
As to people who dislike them, come on, this is a forum: a bunch of threads where anybody is free both to join them or not.

Maybe a poll could be started to poll people about which poll they would like to be polled on next?

Pleased with the final result. My vote went to Knight Lore but have zero complaints that MM won. To have three absolutely iconic Spectrum games in the top three is pretty cool.

Ugh. The most
iconic game? Well, fine, I’ll grant
Manic Miner that. But the
best ? Really? Give me a break.
Sigh.

It may bot be as good as Zythum, but it's still one of the greatest - anyway, surely better than Target Renegade.

Missed the vote completely. I would have voted for Skool Daze but Manic Miner is a worthy winner.

Does anyone think it's a travesty?
Yes.
To paraphrase Jackie Chiles, it's totally inappropriate! Outrageous, egregious, preposterous! I am shocked and chagrined, mortified and stupefied!

Is it time for the 'modern games' thing yet? There haven't been enough polls around here lately.
