ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
Here's a bit of a rabbit hole for you. A bit of a daft challenge I came up with for myself, and I just can't finish it.
Obviously, we all love the ZX Spectrum, and yes, there were/are other systems out there.
Is it possible, that for each system, you could name a game that was officially commercially released for it AND the ZX Spectrum?
Confused? Well, I've come up with a list, and there are gaps in it. I haven't always come up with the official versions of the game, but I guess you guys can suggest appropriate alternatives? And yeah, doubtless I haven't got every system listed either.
But it's a start...
1st gen consoles
Um, all I can come up with is an unofficial version of Pong, for all of them! Pong was highly prolific on these primitive consoles, pretty much the definitive game of an age before Space Invaders and Pac Man.

Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
Pretty much, yeah. I wasn't going to post it until I was finished, but then, what would be the point of that? That's a blog entry, not a forum post.
And in any case, the list of 3rd gen consoles is a sitting duck - I'm fairly sure I could fill those out in seconds, I just never got round to it!
Ideally, I'd like to pick the BEST games. Some of my choices are a bit poor, but in some cases, they were out of a VERY limited selection.

Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
Well, talking seriously, it's almost impossible to name any game from 2000s consoles onwards...
Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
You could at least add Rare Replay for the Xbox One.

Dinamic published many of their games on PC at the end of 80s/beginning of 90s

Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
I still have a MSDOS version of Psion Chess.
You could play it both in 2D or in a cool 3D mode, and it was from mid 80s, IIRC.

Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
I know that the more up-to-date you go, it seems it's harder to find games linked to the Speccy era, but you do usually tend to find a package of retrogaming-themed collections on just about EVERY platform (lots on the live services from X-Box 360 and X-Box One).
The two behemoths of retrogaming - Space Invaders and Pac Man - must have appeared on virtually every platform that's ever existed.

Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
The good candidates to check if they were released in some form on modern platforms:
- Tetris
- Pacman
- Lemmings
- Sim City
- Street Fighter 2
- Final Fight
But I don't know how to search for it. I checked Mobygames as they could have such info. Unfotunately it turned out that
their search engine is very primitive, not allowing for any more advanced query.

Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
They have an API. But it seems like normal people aren't allowed to use it.
Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
Or you could try a different database. Here are some games that also appeared on the Xbox 360.
Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
Here is another one.
Sega SG-1000: Bomb Jack
Is this about one game per platform only?
The SG-1000 also had the following games:
– Elevator Action
– HERO
– Hyper Sports
– The Legend of Kage
– Wonder Boy
– Zaxxon

Earth Shaker appeared on the Xbox 360 and I don't think you can get more Speccy than that really.

Re: ZX Spectrum games that appeared on other platforms
Yeah, do feel free to nominate more games. I was trying to get the best game for each platform but can't really say I did that!
I sometimes play Bomb Jack on the Sega SG-1000 system on the RetroPie I have plugged into my telly. I think you win with that!
