Really?! You always thought Horace had a swampy style rat-tail?!

I'm really struggling with this—IT'S A BLOODY ARM! Just look at the loading screen:

However, I guess I can't argue with the people that actually made it.
WIWC wrote: Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:13 pm I thought it was something like this:
Black lamp, or the master maybe :P
Or like a night cap:
Or a mask with a sort of backhead tail.
Ora like a thief with a pantyhose on the head.
Incredible imagination, and I prefer all of these!

I've been trying to visualise the rat-tail in AGD, and came up with this (I've cocked up the animation a tad).

Horace and the Scissors...community project anyone?

If the guy who invented the GIF image file format says it's pronounced "jiff" then you can certainly argue with any creator about anything.

Oh hell no! What I should say that up until quite a few years ago I also thought it was his arm. But then I read about it somewhere, I can’t remember where, possibly a Retro Gamer article or something where William Tang told that it was his hair. Word of mouth spread, pretty much what’s happening with it now came and went and that was that. It was accepted what it was (is) especially in the Spectrum circles.
And time passed. Then yesterday, I woke up to 2 things that seemed to be getting people in a tizz:
1) the internet meme of the guy with the beard smiling and nodding is Robert Redford (from the film “Jeremiah Johnson). I mean, WTF? Course it is! How sheltered a life must you have led. I thought everybody knew that and knew who Robert Redford is?!
2) that Horace’s hair was his arm!

I was wondering if I had woke up a few years in the past!

You’ll be telling me next that Tony Hart has just died. Again.

He always looked a blemmy to me!
After this revelation, I thought of beards and found this Sinclair beard. Look at the tatoos and retro basketball shoes :)

As someone tweeted, he must have arms, as he is carrying skiis. Plus, it doesn't look much of a rattail from behind.

I don't think I knew, but none of us are getting any younger :?

Heh. I do keep having moments where I'm not sure. There was something I had to remember about Rolf as well...

Horace and the Scissors might appear at some point...

...though the 1980's arcade game rule of adding a bob or ponytail for a female protagonist to the old sprite would normally make this 'Mrs' or 'Ms' Horace.

You think that's bad, had this bit of drama in my life today:

Edit: totally SFW, if unsettling. My life has been a lie!

Nope, not listening. It's a monster's foot.

Also—if you drop one, they never land that way up. QED. FOOT!

Didn't hear any of that because I too had as many fingers as I could jammed in my ears as I saw it!

I'm not a big crisp muncher, but as it happens I do have a multi-pack of them in. I nearly opened them for closer examination, but then I'd have to eat them, and pickled onion monstermunch before bed is never a good idea.

It took me a while to realise what you were getting at actually. At first I thought you were suggesting that Horace was appearing from the heavens in crisp form, the same way Jesus keeps appearing in pop tarts in the southern states of the US.

Would have to disagree with you on that.

Agree about the crisp shape though, definitely a monster paw.

I'm now looking forward to the inevitable Paul Andrews vs. Walkers (aka Pepsico) legal challenge - he'll need deep pockets!

Edit: this needs some photoshopping/memeing and retweeting by people far more talented than me!
