You think that's bad, had this bit of drama in my life today:

Edit: totally SFW, if unsettling. My life has been a lie!

Nope, not listening. It's a monster's foot.

Also—if you drop one, they never land that way up. QED. FOOT!

Didn't hear any of that because I too had as many fingers as I could jammed in my ears as I saw it!

I'm not a big crisp muncher, but as it happens I do have a multi-pack of them in. I nearly opened them for closer examination, but then I'd have to eat them, and pickled onion monstermunch before bed is never a good idea.

It took me a while to realise what you were getting at actually. At first I thought you were suggesting that Horace was appearing from the heavens in crisp form, the same way Jesus keeps appearing in pop tarts in the southern states of the US.

Would have to disagree with you on that.

Agree about the crisp shape though, definitely a monster paw.

Nope, it's always been a stand-up, big-eyed monster for me.

I'm now looking forward to the inevitable Paul Andrews vs. Walkers (aka Pepsico) legal challenge - he'll need deep pockets!

Edit: this needs some photoshopping/memeing and retweeting by people far more talented than me!

They are monsters' feet according to Walkers:-

Monster Munch debate: Walkers give a definitive answer to crisp quandary

Responding to our story on the Monster Munch debate, a spokesperson for Walkers said: “We love that everyone is in a pickle over the shape of Monster Munch.

“They are one of Britain’s favourite snacks and whilst we think of them as monsters’ feet, we don’t want that to stop people from coming up with their own imaginative ideas.”

In addition to the above, I would also like to point out that the character appearing on the inlay cards of Timex Color Computer versions of the three Horace historical games does indeed have arms.

But isn't that just the inlay artist's interpretation, rather than the intention of the creator?

Having said that, even if William Tang called the game "Rat-Tail Horace, the weird blue blob with a rat-tail", I'd still say it was an arm!

There was some discussion over on the Spectrum Next Facebook page around Horace and his appendage due to the artwork posted around the Spectrum Next game ‘Horace World Tour’. This prompted a discussion about his arm/flap/leg/whatever and I was firmly in the arm camp.

I found that Alfred Milgrom was the creator of Horace, not William Tang, so I just fired him a message to ask him once and for all. I didn’t expect a reply to be honest so I was most surprised when I he did respond to me. What a gracious chap replying to some random Facebook nutter asking about a character created nearly 40 years ago!

I was just as shocked as everyone to find out it’s a rattail!
