The best Speccy game by Electric Dreams: vote

Okay, so Electric Dreams is actually an imprint of Activision, mainly a 'train set' for Rod Cousens. It was an idea of the US giant Activision to have a Europe-focused brand, so they could get a foothold in the local market.

At some point, I will do a poll of Activision - which will be massive. But for now, here is The One Where Everybody Votes For R-Type...

Bit of a difficult for me as, other than Aliens, I don't really rate the ED games. Aliens is a masterpiece in suspense and although R-Type is a technical marvel (and is my all time fave arcade game) I never really enjoyed it as it was much too difficult. Dandy I never really liked all that much but is the 'best of the rest' that I played BITD.

A very fair result - R-Type was stunning and the kind of achievement that all the other software houses would have loved to emulate - and it warms my heart that Dandy came in second on the proportionate vote. That game was vastly underrated by everyone I ever knew.

I'm puzzled by the vote to the sheer dullness of Big Trouble in Little China.

I missed this vote (as well as the Hewson one), but I think I would have gone for:

I recognise the programming achievement that was R-Type, but I got frustrated with it sometimes when I lost my powerups, and I could never get past the big scrolly ship thing.

I'm quite surprised anyone else had Explorer in their top 3, I thought Dunny was the only person who actually liked it..
