I've just discovered that the third game in the
Bomb Jack series is Mighty Bomb Jack.

It seems a cool game on the arcade so it's another candidate! :)

Second the vote for Mighty Bomb Jack.

Although not a great game, I'd like to see a good version of PitFighter :D
It's a classic!

I'd love to see Circus Charlie. But I'm not sure if it really qualifies as a classic? I bloody loved it, though. Oh, and Mr Do.

I don't believe Amidar has been converted to the Spectrum.

I think there's no official conversion, but there are some unnoficial ones. Colour Clash is the first that comes to my mind.

There's Potty Painter too, and that's got a Gorilla in it. Neither are full-on ports, and both have plenty of room for improvement.

Now I remember another one: Maze Chase. It came with the Spectrum Plus User Guide Companion cassette, and you could change their UDGs with the UDG editor also included in that cassette. Not bad.

Yeah, I would love to see a good ZX version of Circus Charlie. On the other hand, I think we are lucky enough to already have a really good version of Mr. Do

If you weren't aware of the Adrian Singh/Mark R. Jones game, this could be your lucky day, I hope you would find it so amazing as I do.

You have links to the game info already thanks to DouglasReynholm

Have been racking my brains trying to think of a really good Frogger conversion on the Speccy (Horace Goes Skiing doesn't count :P ).

Any recommendations? I remember Paul doing something on an episode of The Spectrum Show but most seemed to be sluggish early BASIC offerings.

Deanysoft's conversion is good.

I really like Fro, it's a simple ATTR demo done for last year's Speccy.pl party. Doesn't look so pretty, but it plays really well.

I today got to try the Spectrum version Mr.Do! It really is a remarkably fine conversion.

However, is feels just a fraction too slow. I'm very good at arcade Mr.Do! so I think I'm qualified to say that I find the Speccy version just a little slack, particularly in terms of control. So yes, it's a good version. It's just not quite perfect. Here's hoping for a 1.1 version. ;)

Whaaaat??? Don't you know Froggy by DJL (David J. Looker)? It's a very decent (more than decent I'd say) frogger clone.

Ok, ok, it's got GDU graphics, but it's really cool: good movements & sounds.

Try also Z-Man, by the same author. A very cool Pac-Man clone.

Just tried both of those.

The Deanysoft one is more polished with some nice tunes, but isn't really true to the original - movement doesn't use the 'one-step-per-keypress', there are fewer lines of traffic, no turtles.

Froggy has more of the classic Frogger elements, but feels like it's compiled BASIC or something, a bit sluggish and sprites are quite small.

Perhaps the vertical orientation of the arcade cab causes this to be another tricky one to emulate on the Speccy.

Leapfrog by CDS Microsystems is another Fogger clone I've played but not as good as Froggy:

Again, UDG graphics...
