The best Speccy game by A 'n' F Software: discussion
Another poll that could well be a foregone conclusion. Here's what I've got listed up...
Agent Orange
CORE
Chuckie Egg
Chuckie Egg 2
Crazy Balloons
Dashing Douggie
Frogger
Jungle Fever
Kamakazi
New Cylon Attack
Painter
Wibstars
Xeno
There are two educational titles - Alpha-Beth and Alpha-Gen. Not sure if these fit the 'game' definition...

Xeno, obviously.

Jungle Fever. I spent more hours on this one than any of the others on the list
Re: The best Speccy game by A 'n' F Software: discussion
Off the top of my head, Chuckie Egg is the only one of these that I can recall playing - many times may I add.

Re: The best Speccy game by A 'n' F Software: discussion
Not really. I have wasted hours playing Chucking Egg 2. I was never much into JSW or Dynamite Dan, instead I enjoyed exploring of CHE2. It Is really hard to describe why it is not just a JSW clone (maybe it is, at all), but I somehow feel the game encourage exploration while JSW basically just want you dead (ASAP).
Anyway, CHE1 is probably better game.
And I spend hours by looking into BASIC od Painter. And learned a lot.
So for me:
1 - Chuckie Egg
2 - Chuckie Egg 2
3 - Painter
Btw. Why Is Xeno considered to be a good game ? (Just asking).

Never played Xeno before. It seems quite good but I am a bit confused about the controls - it is turn based?

No. You have to get to the ball before you opponent does. There’s an adjustable shot time limit, too, so if you hesitate, your . . . hmm . . . puck will shoot in the direction of the pointer (cross) anyway.

Yep, it was the time limit was out foxing me. Now I understand! It is a really cool little game.Ast A. Moore wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2020 6:55 pmNo. You have to get to the ball before you opponent does. Not as good as Chuckie Egg though. But then, nothing is.

I've always been partial to a bit of Chuckie Egg 2
So far, so meh
Re: The best Speccy game by A 'n' F Software: discussion
Nope. CE2 was amazing. Finding the milk, the sugar, the toy parts and making the giant egg. I mapped this back in the day and was able to complete it 3 times on the trot. We wondered (my father and i) if the map changed or got harder every time you beat it. I don't even remember what the outcome of that was now... did the enemies get a little faster?
Chuckie Egg would be my vote though. Sheer replayability and fun, and trying to max out a pattern for max score. Good times.
I don't have anything cool to put here, so i'll just be off now to see a priest with yeast stuck between his teeth and his friend called Keith who's a hairpiece thief...
Re: The best Speccy game by A 'n' F Software: discussion
Not faster, just 25 more enemies on subsequent eggs, up to the 5th one :-hitm4n wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 10:49 pm Nope. CE2 was amazing. 1st egg - 155 enemies
2nd egg - 180 enemies
3rd egg - 205 enemies
4th egg - 230 enemies
5th egg - 255 enemies
Another vote here for CE2 in first place, very closely followed by CE.

Chuckie Egg 2 certainly has some loyal fans..!
I didn't realise that the enemy numbers changed.. I quite like the way the early screens were designed to allow the player to cross them quite easily, only the odd obstacle to avoid.
I wasn't so keen on the number of times you have to keep going back and forth to that vat wotsit though.
Would be quite surprised if anything other than Chuckie Egg won this one.
