I played Jonah Barrington's Squash more than anything else (2 player with my brother) so that gets my vote.

2 player Jonah Barrington with a sibling was great. The real game being who could do the best impression of the Speccy screaming "not up" at you.

I'd not played Custard Kid, and downloaded it to have a go. (It's ... okay).

Interesting that it's not by Malcolm E Evans (as nearly all of these are), and I had a quick peek around the memory to see if I could find any reference to who the author was (as it's not listed on the inlay) and spotted this...



... a chunk of (presumably) its own source code in there!

Well, Trashman has run away with this. An immensely popular game that got 16 votes, the majority of them cast. It's a solid placing.

Strangely, the sequel, Travel With Trashman, fares rather badly in the phpBB poll, but let's move over to who won the second place, which is...

Cliff Hanger, with 6 votes.

Then Jonah Barrington's Squash in third place, with 3 votes. Possibly the only squash game on the ZX Spectrum?

Escape is in fourth, with 2 votes.

In joint fifth place, 1 vote each: 3D Tunnel; Knot In 3D and the aforementioned Travel With Trashman.

Trashman dominates the proportional poll too, but there's a respectable second placing for the sequel...
