The previous game, First Past the Post, involves you trying to retrieve a letter that the main character regretted sending to his girlfriend. The third game in the series, Man About the House, involves you having to clean your house (and fix various other problems) before collecting your wife (and new baby!) from the hospital.

I have it on good authority that the author of the adventures did not have a girlfriend, so who knows where all these ideas came from.
