Spectrum Computing

The thread on completing adventures got me thinking about game guides. Was Melbourne House's A Guide to Playing the Hobbit the first standalone commercial game guide? Does anyone know of any earlier ones (not just for the Spectrum)?

The game you mention is from 1984.
