Satan (Dinamic, 1989):

Strong resemblance with Charlton Heston in 'The Ten Commandments':

Good spot! That's definitely the source.

It's a pretty ironic choice of image, given the title!

Really? The game is called Satan but you don't play as Satan. You play as a hero who has to defeat Satan. And the inlay shows this hero.

He's even wearing the Jewish star of David ;)

One thing is not obvious to me. Do we have one hero or two heroes here? If it's one hero then does it mean that he can transform magically from a warrior to a mage? :?:

According to the instructions, "the forces of evil have taken over the world blah blah blah... only a warrior can stop this nightmare but he must first turn into a mage as the mission of destroying the evil forces are only reserved to a mage". I don't remember there was two characters in the game and the instructions doesn't say anything about it. It seems he starts the game as a warrior mage.

I'd have prefered a ninja mage instead of a warrior mage, definitely. It'd have been cooler! ;)

I've never played the game. From a quick look at the instructions, it seems you are a warrior granted magical powers. I suppose that is what the cover represents.

BTW I expect the swordsman figure is copied from somewhere, too. It looks familiar.

Actually this game has two parts, loaded in separate loads. I suppose in the first part you play the warrior and in the second one you play the mage.

And I looked at the magazine reviews. It looks that yes, it's supposed to be the same person.

It's a default warrior stance, but I'm sure I've seen the source somewhere too. It's not a million miles away from Camelot Warriors, does anyone know the source for that?

Does anyone know how they copied an image off the TV in the 80's?

Did they simply put tracing paper directly on the TV?

I think at some point you could get an amiga and print a paused video tape, but not sure when that was possible.

A lot of the images could be copied from the video cover and back, and pictures from the TV guide.

Actually, thinking about it, it was probably mostly copies from movie enthusiast magazines.

Just found, by chance, a pic of the Landwasser viaduct in Switzerland, and immediately certain inlay came to my mind:

This place possibly inspired the artist to make the artwork, doesn't it?

Zub (Mastertronic).

The main character in the inlay strongly reminds of a very well known Star Wars character...

It's a poor show that Codemasters chose Hulk Hogan when we had the likes of Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and Kendo Nagasaki on this side of the pond.

In Psycho Soldier, Athena's leg pose might come from another Lisa Lyon picture.

The figures in the green and white shirts look as though they are based on Bruce Lee. My best guess is that they come from The Way of the Dragon, but I can't find a matching image.
Here's the image:
