So I'll skip it.
I'd say exactly the same for Cannonball. I really can't be bothered to play it than for more a few goes. I think I'll leave a "placeholder" score on this one.

My latest:

Pssst: 152,710. Better than before but not good enough.
Cannonball: 2,210
Flappy Bird ZX: 84

My current score on Pssst!: 26520

I've only played this a handful of times throughout my life. It's quite a fun little game. :)

I probably won't bother with the other two games though. No offence to the people who wrote them, but games that are specifically designed to be frustrating just aren't my bag (with a few exceptions).

It's nice that people have submitted scores, but this round didn't start until midnight last night so I'm afraid all your scores are null & void, you'll all have to start again... ;) ("Oi..! Stop throwing things at me...")

I managed a score of 7 on Flappy Bird. Probably won't play it again, the experience is pretty painful. For those who don't want to play it I'd say give it 10 seconds of your time, it'll be funny to see a bunch of scores tied on 1..

Quite looking forward to Psssst! - I'll dig out my Speccy for that one as I have the original that I can load from tape. Just to say that any submitted emulator screenshots from any of you must be backed up with a photo of an original owned game, or I'm reporting the lot of you to F.A.C.T.

Will also give Cannonball a go at some point this week too. It's another 'twitch' game, but not quite as frustrating as Flappy Bird. At least each game is quite short.

Overall like other players I'll give these a go but i'm probably not going to invest much time in this round, as it's a potential fist-through-the-screen fornight...

FlappybirdZX - 26

With this and Cannonball, I think we're getting the 'less deep' games out of the way in one fell swoop. I remember Timmy was the first with the Flappy Bird Simulator, which is more rough and ready than the version we're playing here. Whether you like the game or not, Ralf did a great job of converting it. There's a very large area being scrolled at 50 fps, and rather than use the regular approaches of very quickly moving the whole screen, it only scrolls the front and back of the pillars. What's even more impressive is, if I remember right, Ralf doesn't even like Flappy Bird! (I remember him saying something like "Alright, I'll do the stupid bird").

PSA: this round has been cut to ONE WEEK - ends midnight Sunday the 9th Aug.

Unless you vote otherwise, that is 8-)

Those who get 10 points or more in Flappy Bird... what do you eat for breakfast?

Probably not as much as they drink afterwards...

Flappy Bird ZX - 33

Please note that I wasn't able to grab the image of where I died (it's not on screen long enough) so started a new game just to get a photo of the high score.

Is it my imagination or do you move even faster on stage 2 of Cannonball?

Oh cripes... I hope not. I haven't noticed any speed increase when you clear a level, though sometimes when you change direction I've noticed that it seems to jump slightly.

Currently at a Cannonball high of 2,475. Won't be beating that this evening. Might come back to it at the weekend for another go after playing Psssst! later this week.

Might just be me, but I could swear that each time I've got to stage 2 you move just that little bit quicker.

Nice score btw, I'd be very happy if I could get there - working on clearing level 2 but keep making silly mistakes; once I even pressed right at the start, instead of up or down, and just slammed straight into the wall!

I haven't played Pssst for years (yeah, here come the excuses... lol) and was dismayed that I only got 30K on my first go! I've got to improve fast if I'm going to challenge anywhere near the top places. Still, at least this is a far more relaxing game that the other two!

Got 8 points in Flappy Bird. I don't think I will have so much luck in a long time...

Flappy Bird - 130

Was hoping to break the 100 mark tonight. Phew! I need a rest after that.

Pssst! - 33255 (new)
Cannonball - 3590
Flappy Bird - 130

Pssst! has aged so well! I think a lot must come down to the frame-rate. It's just so buttery smooth. You could overlook a dodgy frame-rate back then but nowadays it just kills a game.

Thought I'd have another sneaky go at Flappy after some coffee this morning. Latest scores:

Cannonball - 2,475 (no change)
Flappy Bird - 22 (new!)
Pssst! - Yet to play

That's a monster score... I doubt I'm going to get close to that. It looks as if Mousey is correct - although I didn't notice at first, it does seem to get faster each time you clear a screen, and Muy Dificil level is fast enough on level 1..!

I can occasionally get to the third screen but it just gets too fast at that point... The twitch response is just too... twitchy..!

[EDIT: Gave it one more try after posting this and managed 3,435. Seems you get an extra life after completing screen 3... :o ]

Haha, pretty close after all! Yep, you get that extra life but I don't find it goes very far... by that point the car is going so fast it's like watching the spokes in a wheel.
