I never played Starglider and only just tried 3D Starstrike. In fact, the only 3D space games I think I had BITD were Codename Mat 1 & 2 on compilations and I thought they were quite boring TBH. Shame Realtime couldn’t have got the Star Wars license for Starstrike as it’s a fab version.

You certainly got a lot for your money with Booty, especially if you had a Currah Microspeech.

Cracking budget game, I think I remember this winning the "WoS world cup" of budget titles...

Simple but enjoyable gameplay. The only two 'features' that I wasn't keen on were the stuck-on-lift-with-parrot-flying-towards-you syndrome, and the way the collision detection favoured one side of the player sprite.

Wouldn't get into my top 100, but a decent game.

I do love Booty and its 'sequel' (same gameplay, same author) Moonlight Madness, this time controlling a boy scout instead of a cabin boy. The rest is the same.

I'm now assuming the list is in random order because this is the best Speccy game ever made.

I think there's a bit of waggle room between it, the Rebelstar games and the Chaos ones but you'd definitely want at least one of them in the top five.

My Gollop preference/order (this isn't my actual top 5 but all great games!):

1. Chaos
2. Laser Squad
3. Rebelstar
4. Rebelstar II
5. Lords of Chaos

I'd probably go

1 Rebelstar 2
2 Rebelstar
3 Lords of Chaos
4 Laser Squad
5 Chaos

I think Lords of Chaos is extremely underated. It does need a few more levels though. I'm also rating these as single player games as that's how I play them nowadays.

I noticed that a couple of you had Rebelstar 2 avatars and therefore this would be your number one favourite game in your top 100 list of ZX Spectrum games, which I'm looking forward to seeing :D

Mind you, my avatar is Rex and he's languishing all the way down at number 62 on my list. He is one sexy rhinosapien though.

As I see it's confession time, I must admit I've never played any Gollop game back in the day

I've never enjoyed any pixel-perfect-jumping games like Manic Miner and family on the Speccy, or an other computer/console.
