Mr Do coming soon to Spectrum

Post by Ralf » Thu Mar 01, 2018 11:26 am

Looks like we are going to have a Mr Do conversion very soon on our Spectrums

I remember that in the past many people wished to have it on Speccy so now the wishes come true :) And Mark Jones working on the project is the sign that it has a big chance to be great quality.

ewgf will be delighted!

Does anybody have news from him? I miss his posts. It's a shame if he decided to stop posting because of "latest developments", when he could have simply moved to this forum.

I didn't remember that he was a fan of Mr Do.

Anyway, ewgf, if you are reading us, join Spectrum Computing! It's a different spirit here.

Yes, the spirit of Martjin Wos is here on this forum, but I think you're wasting your time.
Chit chat champions, along with the advanced Roger Jowett simulator v2.0 are now the rulers of wos.
I know that I am here in a good company, and probably they think the same.
Everyone got what he wanted and I like it that way...

This port of Mr Do looks fantastic and I am still holding out for a Mr Do Castle port :D

Bring it on

Interesting! I remember Adrian Singh asking lots of questions about 128K paging etc.

Looking forward to this, the pressure is on as there will be comparisons with Bob Smith's Farmer Jack series...

I only played it on MAME, and it's a very great arcade. It was incomprehensible there was no Spectrum version back in the day.

Looks promising.

Mr. Do was never something that appealed to me .. but I know that it was never released on the Spectrum - and that it was wanted - so hopefully Adrian & Mark will bring us a good version of it. Mark is certainly good ... and hopefully Adrian will deliver too. But I'm sure he will :)

I second that! It's the better game in my book. It had an excellent port on the c64.

It looks that the game will have some colour clash - sprites vs background edges. I wonder if it will be bad enough to spoil your fun a bit or completely unnoticable.
