The cover art for Licence to Kill is attributed to David Rowe in the archive, but it is the same as the UK movie poster. The poster is a composite of photographs and painting designed by Robin Behling. So I think David Rowe should be replaced with Robin Behling.

Short Circuit - the background image is a retouched version of John Alvin's movie poster, with a photograph superimposed on it (I suspect by Steve Blower). So I suppose John Alvin should have a cover art credit.

Hehe, Mobygames is a true gold mine for this topic!

And that's why I like SC database, it gives you the chance of search for additional info of every game in other DBs: WoS, Mobygames, ZX Art... with their corresponding link.

Should we credit both Steve Blower and John Alvin for the inlay?

I don't think so.

1. Steve Blower is a guess, not confirmed. I think it's a good guess, but it doesn't meet the threshold of certainty that we've been applying elsewhere.
2. Whoever added the photograph was just making layout/paste-up changes. These sorts of changes are mostly very minor (eg adding a logo, a small amouny of airbrushing). We also honestly have very little hope of ever identifying who did them. It can be hard even to identify what layout changes have been made. I don't think we should include layout changes even when we can identify the person behind them (unless, of course, there is substantial new material created, eg new painting).

So I would suggest just including John Alvin.

In the official webpage of David Rowe A View to a Kill isn't included:

https://www.davidrowe.net/davidrowe-games.html

So I think it should be replaced.

That post was based on a dump of my unchecked rough notes, which contained some errors that were corrected here. (It's a long story why it was not checked, but it should be the only post like that.) I'll check it properly.

Somewhere on the site I think David Rowe acknowledges his is not a complete record. In any case we should be careful about the argumentum ex silentio on its own. I suggest we check this one, but I don't think this is enough on its own to warrant a correction.

When the inlay is the own film poster, I think we should appoint him as the game cover author. It seems clear this time.

A question is... why was Rowe initially included as the author?

I can't find any trace in the forum of David Rowe being described as the artist for a View to a Kill.

A View to a Kill is by Dan Gouzee, so the David Rowe mention seems to be another error.

OK. I have checked the David Rowe mentions in the "dodgy post" and have found no further errors. All bar 4 are on the author's website. Of the remaining four, two have David Rowe listed as the cover artist at Moby Games. That leaves two unconfirmed: one has already been corrected (Delta Charge); the other is Licence to Kill

What do you mean by "replaced"? There was no inlay credits for "A View to a Kill" in the archive, and nobody mentioned this game before you did.

Did I miss anything?

I've been checking the Steinar Lund covers in the "dodgy post". Most can be confirmed definitively by the signature, the artist's website or the artist's Instagram. The only ones on the list that I have been unable to verify in this way are the following:

Gyron
I, Ball
3D Pool
Classic Adventure
Dragonsbane
Smugglers Cove
Blood 'n' Gutz
Gatecrasher
Cop Out
Scramble Spirits

These I have been able to confirm with reference to other sites, so they also seem correct.

The full verified list is below:

I can help with Scramble Spirits. Here's the bottom left of the manual...
Image
You can sort of make it out on the actual cover of the game but they slapped the SEGA logo over it. Likewise, it's slightly visible (when you know where to look) on the adverts in the mags too but they slapped a transparent text box over it.
