3D printable gamepad for the ZX Spectrum

For experts to discuss very technical stuff and newbies to ask why the Spectrum they bought off ebay doesn't work.

3D printable gamepad for the ZX Spectrum

Post by Lynxman »

I designed a DIY gamepad for my Spectrum, based off the SNES design. Free downloadable 3D models here: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various ... um-gamepad

Is uses 6x6x7 mm micro switches and is easy to build.

Works great. The sliding switch is for turning on or off the "up"-function of the rightmost button for those that prefer to jump using that button instead of up.

What is the overall width of the controller? I was thinking of getting a 3d printer for Christmas and this would be a great project so i'd need to make sure that he printers printing plate is big enough to print this.

140 mm, so it should fit on just about any printer out there. I recommend at least a 200x200 mm bed though as that's pretty standard.
