Give ZXSpectr a try.
Every man should plant a tree, build a house, and write a ZX Spectrum game.

Spectrum, an old emulator by Pedro Gimeno.
Re: SP suffix?
It's a very old format, that brings memories of early nineties and my first Spectrum emulator
which was for me (and many other people here I guess) the work of Pedro Gimeno.
Why do you need to use it? Do you have some rare treasures stored in it?
By the way, anybody knows who is/was Pedro Gimeno?

Re: SP suffix?
A pity.
I remember his emulator, the first I've ever used, back in 1993. It was slow and games sometimes failed, but the idea of playing Spectrum games on a PC, with instant loading and saving snapshots were amazing!

SnapConv can convert .sp to other formats, if you need it
