hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=2

did the trick, after I made the monitor zoom in a bit. Thanks for the tip.

That's 60 Hz. Try hdmi_mode=17 to get 50 Hz

Disabling the overscan seemed to work only horizontally, but changing a zoom setting made the picture very good.
