Taken from page 33 of Your Sinclair's Nov 1987 issue, this advert for Software Projects's Hysteria is highly questionable. I mean, look at the expression on the naked hero's face, with his hands on hips and the lower half of his body is - thankfully - obscured. I think he's gained himself a pleasurable reward, if you know what I mean...
And they recreate that on the loading screen...
At a far less alarming degree, I can see this advert was put together by someone with hardly any graphic design expertise. The text for the formats and pricing is incredibly hard to read. One of the most important rules of graphic design is not to plonk text on areas of high contrast.
Even forgiving that, there's something of a clanger...
Ah, the Spectrum 64. How we enjoyed that machine. That's one in the eye for the Commodore 48 owners.

Yes, it was discussed many times before.
Game inlays and loading screens were quite often unofficially copied from movies and other media.
There was some very intersting topic about such inspirations on old WOS but I'm not going to dig for it now.
I don't remember any inspiration for Hysteria there but if it exists, it must be from a porn movie

Rembrandt fans will spot the not so subtle allusion of the Centaur's shaft. That wouldn't pass the Mull of Kintyre test...PeteProdge wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 1:13 pm with his hands on hips and the lower half of his body is - thankfully - obscured.

Looking at this again, the body is clearly a classic bodybuilding 'bulldog' pose*, so it must be from a Mr Olympia or something; but the head is surely from an adult production - there must be someone out there from the original team that has an anecdote about this?!
(Packet of rolos to whoever is willing to admit they've spotted the head in a pr0n film).
*even the biggest porn stars wouldn't be that big, one assumes

There's no way I'm searching for the source images for that cover!

Don’t quite know why you are rising to the occasion and firing off everywhere...PeteProdge wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 1:13 pm Ah, the Spectrum 64. How we enjoyed that machine. That's one in the eye for the Commodore 48 owners.
The ZX Spectrum did have 64K bytes of memory. 16K bytes of ROM + 48K bytes of RAM = 64K bytes

You know what? It looks like Hysteria cover was created by a woman I actually never knew it.
At least C64 people claim so on their site. The gal's name was Karen Davies:

It explains a bit the artist's fascination with hero male body which would be really suspicious under other circumstances
