Just had an email about the new BBC archive website and then found this whilst having a look at some of the clips. Funny to see Sir Clive talking up the games aspect when all I've got in my mind is Alexander Armstrong wearing a bald cap screaming about Jet Set F***ing Willy in Micro Men when the topic of the Spec being primarly used for gaming comes up

Well it was 1986, Sinclair Research Ltd was in dire times (the Amstrad takeover would have taken place less than two months later), the computer was launched way off the Christmas period (as it should have been in Uncle Clive's earlier intentions), and in a "dead" time of the year for sales... he could not afford himself to be so choosy
