How many is too many Spectrums?

What's missing on this quick fly-by?*

And how many Spectrums (Spectra?) is too many?

*Yes, it's lots of leads. They are sitting just out of shot, making the kitchen look like a mad scientist's laboratory. Sarah is not going to be happy if she arrives home with it looking like this.

Good to see you refused to get any more when Amstrad got they grubby mitts on Sinclair.

And the selection shown in the tweet are...

48K Rubber Key with DivMMC Enjoy Pro One and Cheetah SpecDrum in the rear. (This is the one running Chuckie Egg connected to the monitor via Scart to HDMI adapter).
A Spectrum+ with a DivIDE
Another 48K rubber key with a Currah MicroSpeech in it.
An Omni 128 HQ, laptop version (with LCD screen, running Pogo).
A Spectrum +3
A Spectrum Next

and a sad looking (dead) 48K rubber-key hiding at the back, near the multimeter.

And nuts, why didn't I think to get my '81 in there too? What a fool I am.

Impressive collections! :)

Regarding Amstrad, I was actually quite happy with my Spectrum +3. Before that I had a Spectrum 48 and a 128.

 Oh I do have some Amstrad made Speccies, I just don’t have a photo to hand...

I have:
 • Various ZX Spectrum 16K and 48K rubber key machines,
 • Some ZX Spectrum+ machines (more than in that photo),
 • One ZX Spectrum 128K toast rack,
 • A couple of +2 (grey) machines,
 • A couple of +2B machines
 • A couple of +3 machines including a +3B,
 • And a ZX Spectrum Next.
Non-Sinclair but Spectrum like: one Investrónica Inves Spectrum+ machine.
Not Spectrums, but I have one ZX80 and various ZX81 machines, one TS1500.

Most work, but some are in need of new keyboard membranes (I took delivery of a load of new membranes earlier this week).

Well, I’ve never been a collector; for development purposes, an Issue 3 (or later) 48K, a Toastrack, and a +2A/+3 should pretty much suffice. I still haven’t reacquired a 48K Speccy (have been putting it off for various reasons), but other than that, I’m pretty much covered.

Oh, it’s a good idea to have a few spares for each model, of course, but the prices some people ask for a Toastrack are often beyond ridiculous.

I had a clear out a couple of years ago, and sold all my +2 machines, but official Sinclair / Amstrad stuff I still have:

48K Rubber Key
2 x Spectrum 128K Toastrack
+3
Next
2 x Interface 1 and 4 Microdrives

I mainly use the Toastracks. The other stuff is kept in plastic crates.

I got rid of my +3 in the mid 90'ties, then 3 years ago I got a Spectrum 48 again (thanks to Frankie ) - but promised myself it was only for nostalgic reasons, and not to collect... Now 3 years later I got...

-- Too much :-) ---

5 x ZX Spectrum (two +48K, one boxed)
4 x ZX81 (one boxed)
1 x Toastrack
1 x Omni 128 Desktop

Bunch of Divmmc, tzxduino, ZX-VGA-Joy and ZX-Pand for ZX81

Ohh well :-)
