Info Guide Magazine #12

Post by PeterJ » Thu Mar 08, 2018 10:21 am

Whilst browsing some Russian sites (Spectrum reasons only I hasten to add before you start checking my internet history!) today I came across the 'Info Guide Magazine' on Speccy Live which has been translated to English:

http://speccy-live.untergrund.net/2018/ ... 12-ruseng/

Do we have any members from Russia or the former Eastern Block countries? I would love to hear about the scene now, and how you got access to equipment, software and documentation in the 1980s.

What are the key sites to monitor to keep up-to date with the Russian scene?

Very nice - since outlet stopped its hard to find disk magazines on the spectrum.

In the editorial section they are looking for a place to store 1500 programming/game dev notes the editor has scanned and organized in directories.. That would seem like a really good thing for SC to get. You can see a small portion of it in the oldpapers section on the zip.

Would be a few years too late (2016) but who knows perhaps they still have them..

For the non-pentagon people...

Would any of our Russian speaking members be able to help with this?

I don't know about 80-s since i receive my speccy clone at 1993 when a was 10 years old. We have some books about games, assembler and machine code. It was unlicensed translation with tons of errors of some british books and games desciptions from british magazine.

But also there was some regular press with original articles. SOme of them collected at

I'm still hoping for a Russian speaking volunteer to help with this. Step forward please! It would be great to get these scans preserved. I have had a couple of offers of help, but then it died out.
