Thanks Dave! About that Sqij in Hell meme, I know you aren't supposed to explain them, but... The point was, in Hell the only game available to play is the lousiest game in history, and to add insult to injury, whenever you try to load it, it fails!

As R-Tape's meme suggested, it would make sense that in Hell - not only would the game load perfectly every time - but it would also lack the caps lock bug that prevented you from playing it!

Never played either game before, so I fired up Mutan Zone, I died, I died, I moved a bit, I died, I moved a bit more, I died.
Tried again, I moved a bit, I died, I ducked, I moved, I died, I jumped, I died. I reset the emulator.
