Some ZX T-Shirt

Post by alejandroserra »

Hi everybody.

I would love to present a series of T-shirts that I really enjoy drawing. Some are my creations and others are fun themes that I found by Interet and that would look great on a shirt for Spectrum.

For the people of England, this is the link:

And for the people of the United States, this is the link:

The one that most enjoys drawing is:

They look great, but £17.99 seems lot for a t-shirt, but maybe I'm not up with the kids!

I think I can say pretty confidently that if you did indeed wear one of these shirts around "the kids" then they probably wouldn't be calling you 'sick' or 'dope' or whatever words young'uns today have for indicating approbation.

I myself would go with fab, groovy or gear but then that would show my age :)

Nice work.. :)

Oddly enough I stumbled across these the other week, while looking for something else.

There's quite a lot of graphics on those t-shirts - have you thought about, say, just having a single Speccy character (with no text), e.g. Horace, rendered as a graphic (like in the style you've done the green Sabre man)? I tend to slightly prefer the minimalist option in my retro t-shirt preference.. :D

alejandroserra is using the same aviator as Nomad. I wonder what happened to him. He was very active when we started the forum, then has not appeared since July.

Your heart’s in it. I like it! Iconic, captures the spirit. Brilliant! But . . .

Seriously, it’s not Arial, it’s Helvetica. And your kerning is off.

Thank you all for the comments.

I'm thinking of making a shirt that only the keyboard keys "Z" and "X" come out with their commands and colors around.

And another with the computer but only vectorial, that is not a photo.

Cool! The key legends on the original Spectrum are also set in Helvetica, by the way, not Arial. Keep that in mind.

The Arial font was created by Microsoft so as not to have to pay royalties. When Spectrum was created, Arial still did not exist. Thank you for indicating that it is Helvetica.

Any way, I have a original ZX computer and will try making a picture of the keys and process with Photoshop.

Oh! I like that duality between Sabreman and the werewolf, in fact, I like it so much that the rest of the design is kind of redundant IMHO.

I don’t know. That last one looks a little off. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but perhaps you didn’t pick quite the right size. Or it’s the wrong shade of white.

Isn’t the spelling of the word above ZX Spectrum wrong? I’m sure it had a ‘m’, ‘t’ and a ‘d’ in it...

And the letters of that word are also in the wrong order....

Hello again.

I would like to announce an original shirt that I made with the Rick and Morty drawing that is so fashionable and at least to me, it amuses me. I think the original drawing was asking me to modify it with the ZX.
