Top 10 Monthly Charts

Post by PeterJ »

We were asked by Juan F. Ramirez if we could publish which game pages are visited the most.

Well, with some guidance from Ricardo we can now do it. I will update this on a monthly basis.

Complete December 2018 figures will be available shortly, but I can announce the top visited game page during December with 310 views was Bean Brothers from our own R-Tape

Wow! Though I've been playing it a fair bit using the QAOP emulator, hope they weren't all me!

So that's not inviting a horde of Russian refresh bots to attack the database or anything...

The full top ten for December 2018 was as follows:
 1. Bean Brothers (305)
 2. Bandersnatch (195)
 3. WOOT! Tape Magazine issue #2 - ZXMAS 2018 Edition (143)
 4. Quadron (94)
 5. Arcade Game Designer (90)
 6. AGD Compendium (74)
 7. Movie (64)
 8. 30 Red Hot Hits (59)
 9. Gandalf (58)
 10. Old Tower (57)
Many of our game page hits come from Wikipedia, but there are still some odd ones there. I'm not convinced yet how useful this is, but I will keep going for now.

Thanks, Peter!

Interesting to see we can know where the game hits come from.

That is pretty interesting. The fact that AGD and the AGD compendium are in the list, makes me smile.

I feel a bit sorry as I see it makes you waste time. I think I should have explain it better.

The idea is a 'counter' on each entry with the number of visits, and a section in the web (automatically updated) with the most visited games. I'm not a coder, so I don't not if it's possible and if it's worth doing it.

Anyway, thanks PeterJ for doing this. It's interesting to see it.
