Pete P posted this thread on the 10th, I'm guessing it triggered an alarm somewhere in Mr Langdell's lawyers' offices...

I've 'bigged up' (is that still a thing? ) this place a few times over on /r/zxspectrum, but none correlate to the recent spikes. Odd stuff and definitely interested to know what has driven it.. But we all know it'll ultimately be something really mundane!

Some organizations "patrol" the web harvesting for information, and some of them use people instead of robots. So you can get a visitor peak.
Trying not to be too paranoid but this site was (is?) blocked last year by my ISP on my country...

Sometimes it's really scary when I read:

Registered Users: Bing [bot], Juan F. Ramirez, Google [bot]

Then I feel like I'm alone here with those weird bots!

We hit another high on Monday. 393! Might have to start asking for small donations for a bigger server at this rate!

Just realized that Wikipedia include the corresponding SC link of many games in his 'external links' entry section. For example, in Knight Lore. Sometimes include a Mobygames or KLOV link too.

Maybe that's another reason of the number of visitors.

And of course it's also a reason to see this site works! Congrats!

I bet it's some 'blue skies' computer conference somewhere, that happens to be called "Spectrum computing". All the delegates are googling it and coming here hoping to find out where the conference centre is.

When the delegates came across the memes thread they inmediately left the conference and any technologic way of life and started a new life as hippies living in the country, smelling daisies and producing cheese from goat milk.

All I can tell you is that there appear to have been 9,000 clicks in the last week from the USA. The logs are say click from video. Can't tell anymore.

Yes, I posted that over on b3ta. It even hit the front-page! Mind you, I only noticed an increase of about 80 in the thread's view count a little while after. I doubt it's got that much to do with the volume of traffic (I might be wrong though).
