Problem with quick listing bar

Post by Alessandro »

The quick listing bar in the home page displays the last button out of the right margin.

Resizing the window or opening it to full screen has no effect.

Seen on Vivaldi latest version on Windows 10 at 1920 x 1080.

It will be necessary to change "padding" a little bit. :)

Or if it's too much trouble, just take one of the other letters out..

I had to check what is Vivaldi, beside being a composer ;)
From Wikipedia: "StatCounter estimates that Vivaldi had a 0.05% market share for desktop browsers in December 2018"
You are a hipster, Alessandro :)

But I'd like to add that it works okay in Firefox but has the same effect in Chrome.

Thanks. I will ask Ricardo if he has time to look. The lack of standards between browsers is horrid!

Peter, you can consider Chrome as a standard, because that's what the large majority uses:
https://gs.statcounter.com/

As for the "problem" it's a minor graphic glitch. -
Glitches like these are to be expected on a live site, where many people are contributing in real time!

It's only a problem (usability bug) if the site becomes unusable (invisible buttons, not clickable, etc)
But thanks for calling it out Alessandro, feedback is always good ;)

It's an easy Css fix (indeed decrease padding as mentioned), will do when possible!

I'd suggest just removing the 'Z'. I can't think of any decent games beginning with that letter. 8-)

I'd remove the letter M instead! ;)

Ralf Hipsters are posers and false alternatives, the kind of people that would post here despite not even knowing how a Spectrum is made just because retro is "vintage" and therefore cool :P

I have been using Vivaldi for about three years by now, coming from years of Opera and Chromium, and in fact Vivaldi is basically a cross between the two; it is developed by a team previously behind Opera and is Chromium-based. It runs so fast and efficiently on my PCs that I would never leave it for another browser as long as it keeps behaving that way :D

Therefore I am not surprised to know that the issue arises in Chrome as well :(

I agree. Whilst it would be lovely to be able to support all browsers (I have actually recently moved from Chrome back to Firefox), as we are a very small project we need to focus on the most popular browser. Which like it or not is Chrome. Vivaldi is very good too, and they have a native client for Linux too!

Updated CSS for the quick listing, the glitch should be fixed.

Current browsers are quite consistent on how they display pages.
One or two pixels difference here and there, but nothing to worry about (99% of the time  )
At least between Chrome, Firefox and Edge there should be little difference.
