Server updates

Post by R-Tape »

Our hosting company have informed us that they need to reboot our server at some point between 18:00 and 19:00 GMT today. We are told that the anticipated maximum downtime will be fifteen minutes.

So to minimise inconvenience, disorientation or ZXwithdrawal, be sure to have your dinner around this time.

That is all.

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :dance
Looking forward to summer later in the year.

I'm patiently waiting for that downtime, but for now nothing has happened.
We want this rare event live! :D

Dave posted the message for me. It's entirely my error..

EDIT - and it had better be correct this time Peter, this fiasco caused me to have an early tea for no good reason.

I wasn't here and missed the downtime.

Please can you reboot the server again tomorrow for me, same time.

Thanks Dave

EDIT: A bit later would be good if possible

Probably best just to do it every day this year so that everyone has the opportunity to witness it. There might be people on holiday or whatever.

Ahem.

Digital Ocean's scheduled server update did NOT happen yesterday, but in fact will now occur between these times:

Start: 2018-03-23 14:00 UTC
End: 2018-03-23 15:00 UTC

At the beginning of the server update your electricity may be cut, the sun eclipse and your chuntey aura go wibble bibble. People in the street may start speaking in tongues. To stave off these server demons start chanting and banging saucepans, or whatever you have to hand, together.

Above all be strong. We are resilient.

As you were.

If it gets rescheduled again tomorrow I'll know it's Peter trying to make me look like a bellend.

Whow, and there I was thinking I had missed it!

I beginning to think behind the scenes Sinclair himself is organising this 'server update'...

Will we get it within 28 days?...

There's no way I'm having my dinner between 14:00 and 15:00
That's far too late for lunch and far too early for an evening meal

It was terrible Juan, assuming it wasn't signal related I couldn't get the site for about 10 minutes during this window.

Everything seems fine now, but if you were affected by the outage call this helpline #: 0800 48 48 46, Peter is manning the line singing "Hold my hand (very tightly)" on a short loop.
