Screenshots in the archive - suggestion

I have noticed that the screenshots in the archive have a black frame, and when I look at it it seems to wide, compared to the screenshot of the game itself. Would you guys consider reducing this black frame in order to give the screenshot more "visibility" and less contrast with it?
What do you think about it?

For example:

Ivanzx, the black background changes size depending on your resolution ;)

After trying many solutions, we settled on that because we are displaying pixel art.
The images must scale by 1X or 2X, with the border making up for the rest of the column width.
Otherwise you get blurred pixels

I agree that it's not ideal, specially on large monitors, but it's a solution that works across many screens.
And specially, it works great on mobile, and that's important.

But as always, it's something that might be improved in the future.
Suggestions are remarks are always welcome.

Hmm... curious.

The pictures certainly don't look to be scaled at 1x or 2x size for me - in fact they look a little bit weird, as you can see by looking at this shot of my screen showing Adventure A (which uses the standard Speccy font).

My screen res is 1920x1080 - something to do with that, maybe?

Wait - ignore me. It's Windows 10's 'scaling for high resolution screens' being rubbish as usual. If I turn it off everything looks peachy.

Thanks, Microsoft.

This is a zx81 title, but it should not make any difference as zx81 screenshots are converted to .scr - using this format most hi-res dumps works as well. Few exceptions includes screens larger than 256x192 pixels, yes that’s possible on ZX81.

Same title(and screen) rendered from the same .scr file here - http://zxinfo.dk/details/0028637

Looks ok from here. Must be some kind of rendering issue :-)

Yes, the images are converted from .scr, .mlt, etc and should look similar across all ZXDB powered sites. :D

WinXP and Firefox here, and I think I'm getting the same problem (?).

Edit: OK, I might have misunderstood Blerkotron's post, it seems like he was referring more to the fact that the game screenshot itself has a weird non-integer scale ratio on his image. But I still do wonder about the huge black borders. Is this exactly the way it's intended? At a glance, this width seems enough for the picture to actually scale up to 2x at this point, but it doesn't seem to happen (unless I'm maybe reading things wrong again :|).

As I understand- the black border is as designed, and it scales depending on your screen size.

I’m short - the black border has nothing to do with the screen dump (in this case a .scr file)

Right. The images are presented at 1x (256px) or 2x (512px) with the black background making up the rest of the column space.
The column size changes depending your resolution.
So the black will vary a lot while the images remain at the same size.

It's not a great solution but keeps things aligned on two columns (description|images) with minimal scrolling on desktop resolutions.
