See, I don't agree with that. Some art are beautiful and a joy to watch, so that brings joy.
Other art is hopelessly boring, useless and screams talentless "Emperors New Clothes" ... like most of what Jackson Pollock "paints".

See now, I got a new appreication for Pollock after seeing an analysis of the fractal geometry in his paintings, that acts as a hugely effective way of spotting fakes; they just don't have his natural ability to apply levels of detail. And if I had the cash I'd happily have Autumn Rhythm in the hallway of my billion-quid mansion. Damien Hurst and Tracey Emin can f*** right off though.

And I think Oscar Wilde meant a bit more with that quote than taking it at face value...
