Possible unknown titles!?

People are still making stuff for the Sinclair related machines. Tell us about new games and other software that runs on the Spectrum, ZX80/ZX81, Pentagon and Next.

Possible unknown titles!?

Post by Pegaz »

Here is a huge collection of programs and other Spectrum related content on this Spanish site:
http://trastero.speccy.org/

There are various homebrew programs, which I'm not sure are listed in zxdb:
http://trastero.speccy.org/cosas/TusJue ... juegos.htm

Also huge collection of +3 disk compilations and much more:
http://trastero.speccy.org/cosas/Plus3/Discos.htm

Maybe this is already mentioned, but I'm really impressed with this archive.

I am surprised that you are discovering it just now. El Trastero is a well established website and has been running for years by now. Our Spanish friends here will be familiar with it, no doubt ;)

Sorry to disappoint you, but these are not homebrew programs. They are unauthorized translations, with false names and authors, of already existing software, made by Hipocrates Soft in the first half of the 80s. E.g. Fumigator is Pssst and Cosmonauta is Jet Pac. In Italy, such things have been done for years...

These are home-made compilations of already released games and utilities recorded on +3 disks from the original tapes.

But the whole site is impressive, not just the archive. There is a large quantity of software, technical information, articles etc., all in Spanish of course.

Thanks Alessandro for clarification.
I knew about the +3 disc collection before, but I was interesting to these Hipocrates soft games, which I didnt know so far.
Interestingly, in zxdb there are only two titles associated with them.
Also, I guess many people havent heard about this site and will find something useful...

I have known about Trastero for years. And yes, they have a lot of interesting stuff. Not only cracks but original, rare, MIA Spanish games as well.

I believe, they are also collaborating with SPA - the Spanish archive of Spectrum games. We haven't seen any serious update from SPA for ages
but they are alive and we all hope that one day they'll add new stuff from the last 7 years or so to the archive.

So personally I wouldn't be downloading any stuff from Trastero and uploading it here. Let's give them some more time.

Yeah, it's a very interesting site with interesting stuff. Trastero means 'junk room' so you can presume what it is about.

It is run by José Manuel Claros. I love the vintage/90s design. Not every game is unhautorised or 'pirate' software. For example here we can find almost every game published by Investronica, the main spanish distributor in the early years, including software from the UK marketed in Spain(Gobbleman, the Chess Player, the Horace games...:

Another fave section of mine is the collection 'Patágoras', a series of educational programs about phisics for secondary (very useful back in the day! ;) ):

And a very interesting collection of game hits in +3 disks that Erbe released in 1987 or 88:

I suggest walk around this web and see.

And he recently uploaded a compilation of 100 homebrew games of the early years, got from different sources: published in some mags, from blogs or simply remained and found in C60 tapes (he apologises if any of them is a commercial one):

I think it's worth having a look.
