There's recently been a game jam running on Itch.io which involved using the browser-based Adventuron system to remix and expand an existing barebones template of a game, into a proper text adventure.
11 very different, and really quite interesting, games made it over the finish line, many of which were created by first time text adventure authors. If you've ever thought about making a text adventure then I'd really recommend that you give Adventuron a go... it's extremely easy to use. (There's a forthcoming Halloween game jam, if having a goal helps you focus).
One of the great things about Adventuron is that the author of the system, Chris, has made a couple of tools designed to help you use your browser-based text adventure to create a version for ZX Spectrum (and other 8-bit/16-bit machines).
I've used the tool to convert my entry to the game jam to run using the PAWs. You can download it here (and also play the original web version) if that's of any interest...

At the moment, as mentioned in another thread, the tool produces a text-only output, on both PAW and DAAD, but that may well change in the future.

Re: A Troll's Revenge (Text Adventure)
I played about with a system to load graphics off a +3 disk in this game last year but never quite got it working, having to resort to using an "anykey" after loading the graphics. However, I've managed to bodge things to get rid of that annoyance... It's not perfect, but it does work. Now you can suffer my "programmer art" in the +3 version too...

(The graphics code was originally by Paul Brunyee and was "borrowed" from the Spectrum +3 version of Tony Collins' The Hermitage... It was originally designed to pull in full screen pictures, so I've had to gaffer tape a solution in that works with partial screens... A proper Z80 coder could, I'm sure, come up with an elegant routine that works better. But I'm not even a rubbish Z80 coder, nevermind a proper one. )
