MiA Title - Battle on Hoth - Empire Software

People are still making stuff for the Sinclair related machines. Tell us about new games and other software that runs on the Spectrum, ZX80/ZX81, Pentagon and Next.

MiA Title - Battle on Hoth - Empire Software

Post by PeterJ »

A few weeks ago I received an email from 'PeeJay' who had been going through some blank tapes and found this undiscovered gem! He has kindly created a tzx for us to enjoy.

Those of a certain age will remember Your Computer magazine, and if you are anything like me you typed in 'Battle on Hoth'

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=460

Well, this version is labelled as being from 'Empire Software'. PeeJay says he read an interview with the original author (Duncan Kinnaird) saying he was planning on starting a software company, so maybe this was the result? See scan below:

This version has a graphical overhaul and more work on presentation. Unless anyone knows Duncan, we will probably never know.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy and thanks to PeeJay for sharing.

I don't think so - says first job was in 1997 when he was 22, so he wouldn't have been 16 in 1983.

I was talking to someone about this yesterday, and this forum showed up in a search

Heres a download link to just about everything I have in my archives. I'm not even sure what's what. I don't even have any Spectrum simulators on my computer.

What I can say it was written on a 48K spectrum so all keyword USER commands will be likely locked to that version
