Steve Snake has programmed what looks to be a great Bezerk clone for the Spectrum (I’ve not played it yet).

The download link is on the YouTube page:

Been waiting for this. It is an excellent version of Berzerk and very playable. Well worth a download.

Probably the best Berzerk/Frenzy clone I've ever played on a home system - really excellent stuff! My only minor niggle is that it doesn't have a high score table - a weird omission in a game which is basically an endless score-attack. Well worth your time, though - especially if you can hook up a Currah unit to get the speech going.

Very competent, playable game.

This Currah speech is quite scary ;) But generally sounds are very good, early arcade quality. Unfortunately you'll have them in 128kb mode only. It's some kind of design error for me to leave the game completely silent in 48 kB mode. Some beeper farts would do the job.

Perfect version of Berzerk, perfect blaster sound, and a rare occasion to enable Currah uSpeech!

I developed a classic Sinclair tape inlay, if anyone likes to transfer the game into a cassette and load it as it's been always during these 35 years. ;)

The Cover color bands are strickingly different from the side band colors.
Looks nice, but I would match the color bands colors, since they have different hues.

I think Paul did a review of Speccy Berzerk clones on one of his Spectrum Shows, this one would have won hands down if it was out then..! It's remarkable how accurate it feels to play it.

It's fine. Uploaded new version with equal band colors. ;) BTW, if someone wants another text for back inlay, instead of Indie Retro Games referée, it'll be fine too. I have no idea what to say about this lovely game, really, as I'm messed up with so many things in my head but it would be good to change it or just leave as it is now.

Thanks! Somewhat I remade it with a changed text on back spine (you can find it in my retrogaming blog joined to my own custom inlays of another games). It's the good one. :)
