Does anyone know if the author of Strange Movements of Sandkings , Dalthon/Wojciech Zolkiewicz (Joker group) is the same person as as John Dalthon?

Yep - but it would be nice to link it all in ZXDB. I've realised there is an email address in the .txt file, I'll send him a message.

Yes, it's him ;) He's a Polish demoscene coder who returned to Spectrum year or two ago after 25 years long break ;)

Cheers Ralf. Sometimes madness can take hold. Sometimes it can last for 25 years. Glad he's come back to his senses :D

Night Stalker ZX

Announced at zx.pk.ru Sorry for the poor screenshot quality, I just linked to the source.

Looks like a conversion of some early existing game from another platform. Probably not a final version as file name says v01.

I understand that the chunky graphics are a part of the style ;) But one thing that certainly could be improved is turning at the corridors. The game makes a common mistake requiring that you need to be at pixel perfect position to go left/right from up/down corridor and so on.

Are you using a joystick? I didn't have this problem using keys. Using multiple key presses I could 'slide' around the maze easily.

I'm not familiar with the original, but this is a pretty neat. It somehow captures the feel of a different system as well as the graphics. It's making good use of AGD too, the guardian behaviour seems to be different to the built-in defaults.

Pooper Scooper:
Wow. This must be Davey's best game to date, and not the first time I've referenced Multidude in one day!

If you can get past the scatological obsession, this is a outstanding tag-team game. The instructions could be better though; this is what I've pieced together so far:
  • The worm (Scot Faece) eats plants that block the way
  • The beetle (Mark Barton Dung) eats the sh*t that completes the level
  • The wasp (Willy the Wasp) stings the faces, and the guy committing indecent exposure, to turn them into more sh*t
  • The lad (Chave Doley) punches blocks out of the way
Amazing graphics and sound too :ugeek:

I had overlooked "Jet Pack Bob" from 2017 which is not in the archive yet.

As sual, I guess Douglas Barnall will have published the source in pdf format.

I recall he was about to finish a game like Alter Ego.

EDIT

Jet Pack Bob

You can find the game on the Files section from the Arcade Game Designer Facebook Group
https://m.facebook.com/groups/785775881 ... view=files
I suggest to take a look from time to time.
BTW I didn't know there is another FB group for AGDx

And this game is also unknown here?

There is another interesting stuff like Allan Turvey's demos and even an Invaders game from his?

Cheers hik.

I'm struggling to understand why everyone is so comfortable with the closed espionage-shop that is facebook. I can't get hold of any of those files. Can you help me out via PM (or email, I think you already have it)?

Davey Dudds/peas is already in ZXDB. AGDx doesn't have a presence in ZXDB yet. Speaking as a fan and user that needs correcting but I'm not sure how best to do it yet—should it have its own ID?
