Two new games from Russia:

Lost In the Worlds
Image

Game site
https://nihirash.itch.io/lost-in-worlds

and thread on Russian forum if anybody interested:
http://zx-pk.ru/threads/29246-moya-mini ... words.html

Feels like Manic Miner clone, yet the difficulty is even more hardcore than the original ;)

Written with PGD designer (yes, PGD and not AGD ;) )

Rogue

Download in the thread at Russian forum:
http://zx-pk.ru/threads/29242-rogue.html

The game genre is, I would say, turn based strategy. You move your warrior through the maze and every your move means one move
of your enemies. You kill enemies, collect health, weapons and treasure and progress to next levels through exits.

First levels don't give any chalenge but maybe later it becomes a true game???

It seems like a Basic game with UGD graphics but for Basic game with UGD graphics it's quite polished in my opinion.

The author claims, it's not final version and that he wants to rewrite it but I'll share it here anyway as it's generally complete game.

Cheers.

Lost in Worlds is great, a very short, mad platformer. Also contains a couple of nods to the best platform game in the history of the Universe ;)

Infy lives: 35332,182

Can be completed quite easily without cheats, as long as you can pass level 2

Rogue:

Looks like a new author to ZXDB (?). I've inputted him as "Shynni", Ralf can you confirm that's correct?

Not really correct, R-Tape
Transliteration is correct but he's not the author.
Игра сделана на основе NOMAM14_Basic_Tenliner_Contest, автор Jakub Debski.
which means: game inspired by NOMAM14_Basic_Tenliner_Contest, author Jakub Debski
So the author is Jakub Debski and while I don't know him, it's 100% Polish name.

Not sure about Basic Tenliner Contest but I believe it can be this thing below. In that case it was some competition for 8 BIt Atari and this game is a port from Atari:

EDIT: I would also adjust the author of Lost in Worlds. Pinny is his nickname on zx.pk.ru but on his own website he uses a nick Nihirash!

Guys, you got it all wrong )

The author of this particular game is Александр Шарихин (Alexander Sharihin). His nicknames are "pinny" and "Nihirash!". That's his twitter: https://twitter.com/nihirash

The original game (by Jakub Debski) was made in BASIC for some Atari compo. I did not manage to run it, but is looks not exactly like Alexander's game. So it's just inspiration.

And Shiny (Шынни, Дмитрий Крапивин, Dmitry Krapivin) is the other author - he made Rogue and Beams of Light.

If I search for Dmitry Krapivin under author it also brings up Bye, V3nom! by goblinish.

Are Dmitry Krapivin, Shiny, goblinish, g0blinish all the same person?

michellekg , thanks!

And I would say yes, Shinny=Goblinish, he's a very well known and active member of Russian Spectrum community.

Thanks Goblinish!

So as I understand we should save it in database as a new game "Rogue 2", not a different version of "Rogue". But maybe show in comment relationship between these two games.

rogue with 8x8 tiles is beta-version or my attempt to create game.

rogue2 is improved version with fixed bugs and new music and graphics.

May I wrong with naming game?

Nice one, looks great but it could do with some instructions.

Ok I'll give both the same ZXDB ID for a game called "Rogue". Both will be available under the same page - with 8x8 as a dev version and "Rogue2" as the final, proper version. Let me know if you disagree.

We've just had a ZXDB/SC update so these changes will not appear until next time.

That's true mate, I decided to give the news few minutes before the end of 2017! Maybe it could be considered the very first release for 2018, anyway (it's a matter of minutes).

I take this opportunity to report some upcoming releases:

- EXPLORER - compiled Boriel's Basic, first release 2015, upcoming 2018 physical release by Bumfun Gaming;

- EXPLORER 2 - AGD, September 2018 physical release by Monument Microgames;

- RAYS' REPRISAL - AGD, September 2018 physical release by Monument Microgames.

Wow that's quite a party.

Yes certainly*, generally anything more than a tune or a screen. So the LowEnd Intros, Demos, Procedural graphics, Wild etc will be added.

*you can browse demos on SC by going to the homepage, select "Scene: Demo" for Genre and click 'Search', it brings up all demos currently in ZXDB.

Aye that caught my ear too, but PUSHAF really leapt out at me.

That AER has a touch of the Aphex Twin about him (that's a compliment 😊).
