A few years ago I entertained myself in programming a small pseudo-"desktop" in BASIC, using the icons of IZX (Andrew Owen and Einar Saukas) and the Kempston Mouse Driver by Chris Cowley (and other things).
I was thinking of putting it in "Brand new software!" but it really isn't "new" and it's hardly "software" either. I think it fits best here as a BASIC program examples.

Re: BASIC desktop
Amazing! I didn't have time to read the explanations but the tiny icons look convincing.
Re: BASIC desktop
Very nice idea and proof-of-concept. Would be interesting to see whether this could be easily "ported" NextZXOS, which is rather similar to +3/+3e but with 28 Mhz!
