I timed it on a 48K, to never flicker.

I did not try it on any 128K.
I can check that, and see if I can make it go away on a 128K

Could it be an issue with the emulator ?
Have you tried it on a real ZX ?

I don't have a real +2A or +3 I'm afraid. It's possible, but the flicker is the same on SpecEmu, Spin and Spectaculator.

I'm sure it will be just a tiny timing adjustment. 128K and +2 grey is also perfect.

Very impressive - especially the graphics, did you use a special library to give you better colours?

Nope, all standard ZX colors with typical color clash in 8x8 blocks.

You can see a bit of color clash in the the Stone Jokers background, when starting 2 player mode, if you look for it.
During the game it's just "mind tricks", to use color clash to our advantage.

I intend to do a video session, of me playing the arcade with a friend, so that you guys, can understand what this game really is about.
Speed !!!

Most videos available online, do not make it justice.

It's great to see videos made with phone or tablet. They prove that new games are not just for emulators but also for the real thing. I think Alessandro Grussu made one really nice for his game Sophia.

I found a video, by someone that plays well enough to show the true colors of this game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4Arqn2q32M

But 2 humans battling each other, is a lot more fun to watch/play.

Enjoy.

P.S.
Still plan to make further improvements on it, to make it more like the Arcade.
Would you mind if I include this and any other games you have into the DivMMC Start Pack. Its free to the public via .zip file I am making at the moment.

Ahem... The trailer video for Sophia was made with RealSpectrum for DOS, actually :? I made another video with my cell phone, demonstrating the new Apulija-13 loading on a +2A, SetoLOAD turbo version.

However I am absolutely convinced that games should be made for real hardware first. I always test my games on real hardware before releasing them.

^^^ I mean the voyeuristic video where you used speakers to amplify audio from Speculator to a car cassette adapter.

Looking forward to the dog-eat-dog Extruder one-on-one

I just have to remember to take my tripod and camera to work :)

Why "voyeuristic"? That's a demonstration of something I first described 5 years ago, and repeated in different variations ever since. I don't understand what's so "voyeuristic" about it.

 Massage? What the heck are you talking about?

The video I am referring to is here - I think we are talking about two different things...

Ok, here is some real footage, of me playing Magical Drop II, on my Arcade machine.

https://youtu.be/Y0-Z0EAa9VY

Not my best play, but good enough to reach the Black Pierrot character, but then lost once against Black Pierrot, before beating it.

P.S. Sorry for the misaligned screen footage.

Since the video was not well framed, I did another one, but this time I was not so lucky when battling Black Pierrot

https://youtu.be/FWyPOHnnyH4

It took me 3 more credits than seen on video, besides the ones I lost before, to beat it.

We can't always publish "perfect play" videos right ?
Reality is not perfect :)

Yep!
I bought a used one. Fixed it to a better condition than it was, and made some improvements to it: new speakers to match the power output of the sound amplifier; new micro switches for buttons and joysticks; cleaned some rust on metal parts, and chromed some of them; and reworked some of the cables that were a real mess.
It also needs new fans, since one stopped working and the other is doing strange noises :)

Currently it's running with a Pandora Box 3 PCB, with 520 games on it.
I will be upgrading it to a Pandora Box 4, with 645 games, in the near future, to fix a few issues with some games (1943 for example, has incomplete sound implementation).

I also have some vintage arcade boards, like P.O.W., that I can swap in when needed (but then it's a single game Arcade).
NOTE: I'm planning to buy a NeoGeo system too, so that I can use cartridges on it :)

I proposed to my boss to bring it to work, and at work it is :)
