I'm afraid I left it too late to include in a ZXDB update, so I'm temporarily hosting the bundle from my own webspace (contributors - it will be added to this most venerable database in due course).

Massive thanks to:

@beyker for the Mag AY music
MatGubbins for the swirly attrs on the intro (he cunningly hid the bytes under the black loading screen!)
davespicer for the interview, and his XENON 2 DEMOS!!!!!
Dougie mcg for the interview, and the Bearsden crew for the games.
RoseTintedSpectrum for the interview, and for 12 hours of entertainment earlier this year
Joefish for The Haunting of Waterbelle End (be sure to read the recovered "J. M. Raymes" story (.txt) that accompanies it.
bob_fossil for FrumpyXmas
catmeows for Greed
TMD2003 for the beeper, the demos, codewords and the game
djnzx48 for the AY music on ElementZX and Manic Miner For Mind. Splendid fellow.
chip-fork for another creepy zxmas game
PROSM for Rickrolling us
Ralf for the screen and the game
Sol_HSA for The Freak, (and MuCho, natch)
flatduckrecords for his spectrum motherboard fondling emulator
thanks GreenCard Mpk PeteProdge uglifruit for crackergags

Enjoy! Thanks for reading.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS! NOW PARTY LIKE 2022 IS AROUND THE CORNER!

Also - I'd love to see The ElementZX on youtube (with Ay music included), so it can be shared with non-specchums. If you have a channel, or you know someone, please get them to make a video of it.

This is great. Mariah has never looked so good. Looks like the interviews will keep me going through the day, too.

I just got the call yesterday to say that Christmas is, once again, cancelled.

I suppose I'll check out my work along with everyone else's on what, for me, will merely be Saturday.

Is anyone else going to be around?

Woohoo..! <clicks download>

Once again I wasn't expecting there to be quite as much on the tape (must be a C1200 or something) so it'll probably take me happily until the end of the year to play everything...

Nice work and thanks for our Chrimbo pressie... :)

Just realised, in the rush, I sent Dave the .TAP directly from the compiler, no time to add a loading screen, so here it is as it should be. At some point I'll try and do a proper release version of the game for the database - maybe tidy up a few other things too. The whole thing has been done in a rush in three weekends, plus an evening here and there on the graphics. Also grateful of any feedback as I've been so immersed in it I have no idea if the game, the graphics, or the (farty beeper) music are remotely any good! Do please take time to read the short story it's based on for the background!

Image

But now I'm going to read the rest of WOOT like everyone else! Thanks tons for this!

Seconded. Time ran out on us to present it differently, but this is an example of a .txt file that definitely SHOULD be read!

Wow, had no idea how many other people were contributing games!
Am I missing something in Frumpy Xmas though? Is it meant to be a gag? I can't get anywhere in either of the two levels I can see at all!

For mine, if it's not clear, the main aim is to escape the mansion, but also see if you can (a) find the pirate's treasure and (b) discover what became of the previous occupants. If you come across a ghost along the way, you have a split-second to hit FIRE and give it a flash of your Kodak 110 Instamatic Flash Bulb, which should see it off. (Other manufacturer's flash bulbs are available).

First, here's a straight-forward hint, if you're struggling to orient yourself...
Spoiler
You start in the bottom-left corner of the map, facing South. The house has double windows in all rooms facing South; single windows on the West and East facing sides. If you're trying to map it, the rooms are all single squares. Nothing too clever or warped. It's not Willy's mansion!
And here's a bigger hint, to help with finding your way around:
Spoiler
From the start position, turn right round so you're facing the door to the North. Now, knowing that, go North, East, East, South, East, North. You'll find a chest with something very useful inside...

Had a quick blast through everything this evening. Spent most of the time playing the excellent Greed, simple yet oh-so satisfying!
SumItUp was a maths intensive challenge that proved I couldn't add simple digits to total 9 grrr!
ElementZX had a few Speccy related comments in there that made me laugh!

Thank you to everyone involved for their time and effort putting everything together for Woot! 2021. Will have to sit down and go through it all during the next month or so.
