uMia: Kryssy adventure games

Whether it's Mire Mare or a BASIC tape you found in the attic, it needs to be preserved digitally. Post here and experts can help to do so.

Double posting. R-Tape, I hope you'll notice that
I added "Nostalgie" after looking through Epsilon's page on that Russian site, I should have waited until you gave more info before I gave it an ID. Any screenshots & info you can give (either by email or in the old/new game thread) would be splendid.
And here are game images and screenshots for Nostalgie and another game from Alexei - Garden Zone.
I saved all games from Nostalgie as snapshots. Maybe it would be a good idea to make separate entries for each of them? Please decide.

For Garden Zone I added autobooting to .trd image

Thanks Ralf, I agree they should have separate IDs.

Even his earliest efforts are excellent.

Alexei has commented that these were originally written for the "Юнга" and ported to the Speccy. I want to include this as a comment, does anyone know the best way to describe this in English? Jung or Yung? What will people recognise?

I suppose this computer was completely unknown beyond Russian speaking world so you won't find how it is called in English anywhere.

I would go with Yunga. This way it is sounds like the Russian word which begins like in "yummy" and not like in "jungle".

On the other hand I checked and "Юнга" is a common world and means a "young sailor". It comes from German "Junge" - a boy:

https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%AE%D0 ... %B8%D1%8F)

If will be allright it you go both with Yunga and Junga I guess.

They write here that Yunga is a rare clone of better known computer called Specialist:
http://www.nedopc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9299

And this Specialist has a Wikipedia page, even in English:

I spent today some time with Kryssy. I cheated a bit - examined texts in the game and at one moment even used debugger. But here is the result - the first part is completed !

https://www.sendspace.com/file/2jt9hc

I'll check the next parts but don't know if they will be easier or harder to complete.
Very nice!

Can you please translate the names of these objects?

Can you please translate the names of these objects?
Sure!

(By the way, expect recording of Kryssy 2 later today :) )

1. Piece of cheese
2. Rope ladder
3. Soft shoes
(Exact translation: felt shoes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felt You need to have both these shoes and shoelaces to pass silently and safely under
a crusher at one of first screens)
4. Little empty cauldron
5. Shoelaces
6. Iron staple
7. Magic crystal (rather useless but can be exanged like any object for cheese at mouse trap, taking cheese without item exchange means death)
8. Crust (piece of bread)
9. Bottle of milk
10. Office stamp
11. Small key
12. Knife
13. Big scroll (of paper)
14. Camphor oil (or something like that ;) )

At one moment there is a very weird puzzle that most people wouldnt create even after drugs ;) You have a scroll of paper. You use a stamp to print a door on this scroll. Then you use a knife to cut through scroll and open the door this way. Then you you can go through this door (by using the item) and teleport to another location ;) It can be done at any place

I don't understand the second puzzle, why does having the boots and shoelaces stop you getting crushed?!

Thanks R-Tape, I missed the last item.

...
14. Camphor oil
15. Ancient potion

By the way, the game story goes something like that:

Ther was a great and happy civilisation of mouse and rats. But one day the Evil God (never seen in the game) decided to destroy it (probably just for fun and out of boredom ;) ) He build a machine of time and send most mice through it in unknown direction. Kryssy is one of the few survivors and must destroy the machine (seen in final location).

Not the best story probably, but let's be honest, Dizzy stores about evil wizard Zak constantly harassing Dizzy and his friends aren't much better and deeper ;)

Probably the crusher is sound activated and by walking in boots made of soft material you don't make noise on the floor :D

And shoelaces? Well, walking in boots without shoelaces makes you probably more clumsy and making more noise :)

But yes, as I wrote above Kryssy games seem to have it's dose of weirdness.

Kryssy 2 completed! It went faster than expected:

https://www.sendspace.com/file/ib4kdb

In the first game part Kryssy destroys a time machine built by the Evil God. Now Evil God takes revenge and sends big stormy clouds :o over mice kingdom to destroy it effectively this time.

Of course Kryssy has to prevent it by placing 5 lighting rods in proper places and fixing a computer which controls them (these are probably some advanced lighting rods, unlike the ones which we use in real life). On his path he'll have to build a bridge from bricks (like in first part), drop a soap on a floor so a guard slips and faints, use a repair robot, cast some spells, feed dog with bread and do many other stuff to complete his quest. :)

A new thing are items hidden behind terrain, like coins in Dizzy.

2. Floppy disk
3. Trowel "Master" ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trowel )
4. Staple (other translations are possible but I used this one in 1st part)
5. Poisonous mushroom (you cut a part of Russian text, an useless object hiding another one behind)
6. Spanner
7. Piece of bread
8. Chamomile ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamomile, or you could possibly just go with "flower", an useless object )
9. Empty jug
10. Jug with water
11. Slippery soap
12. Piece of cheese
13. Fence part (another useless object)
14. Soldering iron
15. Forth ligthning rod
16. Second lightning rod
17. Broken lightning rod
18. First lightning rod
19. Third lightning rod (yes, each of them has a number in the name and they must be placed in proper order ;) )
20. Broken computer (there is also working computer object)

Sure.

Probably you noticed that you start in the same place where you finished part two. There are these lightning rods from part two still present. They are useless here but there is a fuel hidden behind one of them.

So the items are:

1. Spaceship (yes, really ;) )
2. Teleporter
3. Magic Crystal
4. Staple
5. Gas Fuel
6. Slippery soap (useless)
7. Small torch
8. Book of spells
9. Empty bucket
10. Bucket with water (pour water at block of ice to make it melt and release your frozen friend)
11. Trident
12. Little lion
13. Glass cutter
14. Gas accelerator

And the story is even weirder than before:

In the 2nd part Kryssy saved the world from the dangerous clouds. In reward other mice gave him a spaceship that somehow fits into his pocket. Kryssy needs to use this spaceship to travel into space and finally defeat Evil God.

So he walks around the land gathering spaceship fuel laying here and there. He cannot launch the spaceship anywhere, it has to be done at the castle top floor. But there are 3 windows preventing him to do so. So he destroys them one by one. He destroys one by glass cutter, another one by spell book (like he couldn't use glass cutter again) and another one by using little lion (fitting into his pocket again) - the lions roars and the window breaks.

Finally he starts the spaceship and takes some trident as his weapon. That's the game's end. From the final scrolling text we learn that Kryssy was flying a long time in space until he found Evil God floating somewhere. From his spaceship he has thrown the trident at his enemy and killed him. And everybody lived happily ever after
:D
