YS Digitape Issue 10

Whether it's Mire Mare or a BASIC tape you found in the attic, it needs to be preserved digitally. Post here and experts can help to do so.

YS Digitape Issue 10

Post by Andre Leao »

Another tape preserved by Planeta Sinclair. There are lots of MIA's on the menu "Programas Preservados", and many more to come the next few weeks...

Checking the archive I see there are still a bunch of tapes not preserved, so these are great news.

I didn't know them. Acording to the blog (I understand portuguese only a bit) Digitapes were not he usual 'covertapes' that came free with the magazine, but they were sold and included BASIC lists previously published in the mag. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It seems Your Spectrum had their own Digitapes as well.

Juan F. Ramirez, if you are using Chrome then Google translate does a pretty good job (at least into English).

It's amazing when you think back over the technology changes over the last 10 years. Sorry, I'm changing the subject, but now I can read russian and polish sites, almost as easily as English ones.

You are 100% correct :)

You can use the translate function. Not perfect, but not bad either...

I've never used that Google feature... I've always imagined it makes horrible translations, well, I'll try it in the future.

Anyway, portuguese is almost easy to understand for me :)

Nice blog, by the way! 8-)

A few years ago someone posted a game advert with the DIGI'T'APE logo on it.
This made me suspect that they were an 'On-Demand' service. The tapes were not mass-produced. They held a library and produced each tape as it was ordered. So there's no guarantee that every tape for every issue was ever made.
