Help with Sam Coupe

Post by PaulJ »

Just been loaned a Sam and having problems. I'm not familiar with the machine but;

Sam games load and work fine but I can't get any of the Speccy emulators to load a game.
I have tried:
1. Loading from tape (signal not loud enough!).
2. Loading SNA files (from different emulators and versions) from disc.
3. Converting Plus D saves and loading them from disc.
4. Loading Plus D saves direct from disc.

Nothing seems to work. The emulators (about 5 different ones) either lock up, drop back to Sinclair BASIC or jump back to their own menu.

Anyone ever got a Speccy game to load on any emulator?

Update: Finally got it loading from real tape!!
Seems it needs a stereo lead and not the normal mono!!
Still no luck with snap files from disk though!

The using stereo leads to get a successful load - have you tried adjusting the tape heads? It might be that they are slightly out of alignment, theres a small screw that raises or lowers them. Just an idea. No help at all with disk loads though.
