Trying to find a game
I should say up front that this request is like someone asking a librarian for a favourite book with the info 'It had a red cover.'!
Okay here goes. It was a platform puzzle type game which to get from top left to bottom, you had to slide around a variety of devices like springs, seesaws, and so forth to allow the ball(?) to get there. It ran on either the Atari 800 or the Commodore 64. Thats all I recall except it was fun to play.
I like games like Marble Madness, Oxy-D and this was that sort of game.

Re: Trying to find a game
Can I double check - it's not a Speccy game but an Atari/C64 you want? I'll move this to other retro stuff if so.
For the speccy, there are plenty of Marble Madness style games, I suspect you're describing a 2D one though.
Bobby Bearing
Bubble Trouble (and the slightly similar Bubble Run!)
Bubbler
Gyroscope I & II
Magnetron
Mega Sphere
Parabola
Quazatron
RED LED
Reveal
Spi Driod
SpinDizzy

Re: Trying to find a game
Thanks Ralf -no but that looks like fun I might give it a go. If I can ever work out how to download anything from here because so far I haven't been able to.
Re: Trying to find a game
Need more data!
It was monoscreen? Or with several screens and/or scroll?
Plain perspective like Manic Miner, or something isometric like Gyroscope?

Was it scrolling or a single screen?
What year was it? 1985? 1988? 1990?

Bumpy?
Re: Trying to find a game
I also thought of Bumpy but it wasn't on C64 or 8-bit Atari:

but it's on Spectrum and is definitely worth checking if you don't know it. A very original idea

Re: Trying to find a game
Thanks everyone for trying but it was too far back for me to remember more.
I'm almost certain it was on an Atari machine the more I think about it and that was at my mother-in-laws house which puts the date I played it at circa 1985-86 though my young sons C64 is still a possibility. I remember that the colours were predominantly muted, ochre yellows, slate blue, and a bit chunkier than Speccy graphics. Not bad but not pin sharp.
Single screen, plain perspective, the closest in resemblance so far is Ralfs 'Thing bounces back'

Re: Trying to find a game
Here are Atari games searched for "single screen platformer". Check them, there's not so much of them:
http://www.atarimania.com/list_games_at ... 7_8_G.html
Actually being chunky, mute and yellow fits 90% of Atari games graphics so it's not an extremely useful hint but it suggests that it's really Atari

Re: Trying to find a game
Thankyou very much Ralf for making the effort to help me.
One or two of those Atari screens looked very similar, certainly as far as graphic style and colour goes.
I'll go through the lot more slowly in the morning, its my bedtime now!
One more lead to follow is to call my bro-in-law and ask him in case he remembers. It was his machine.
