There's always one.
Ohh well, it's only a handful I think we can live with it. Thanks though.StooB wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 6:23 pm

Not sure what the issue is with this one?StooB wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 6:24 pm This one's a bit of a cheat too:

It bundles three licences together ("Daley Thompson/Adidas/Lucozade"), I suppose.PeterJ wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 6:31 pmNot sure what the issue is with this one?StooB wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 6:24 pm This one's a bit of a cheat too:

That's one for ZXDB Einar Saukas
This title now displays as expected StooB RorthronStooB wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 6:23 pmThere's always one.

+1Einar Saukas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 3:00 pmIn this case, I think it should be marked as official tie-in for Daley Thompson only. Both Adidas and Lucozade are paid advertises, not really tie-ins.
A long long time ago.
There are two other Adidas games, https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=85 and https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=87 .Einar Saukas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 3:00 pm Just to be clear, ZXDB follows Martijn's WoS model that each game can have only 1 license "product" (either as official tie-in or unofficial inspiration). Although the license "product" may have multiple owners (like this and this).
I could change this model if needed, but I don't think that's necessary. In this case, I think it should be marked as official tie-in for Daley Thompson only. Both Adidas and Lucozade are paid advertises, not really tie-ins.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: Actually it seems Adidas is a paid advertise, and Lucozade is a co-owner of the "Daley Thompson" brand (together with Daley Thompson himself). Thus my suggestion is adding a comment about Adidas advertise, and leave a single license with 2 owners.
Adidas appears on outdoors in the background. Thus the reason I think it's an advert, which is kinda the opposite of a license. In the sense that Adidas probably paid Ocean to appear in these adverts, whereas Ocean probably paid Daley Thompson for the license to use his name in the game.
OK. Definitely not licences, then.Einar Saukas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 7:37 pmAdidas appears on outdoors in the background. I don't think Lucozade appears anywhere, except credited in the loading screen. Since Lucozade was Daley Thompson's sponsor at the time, I'm assuming Lucozade co-owned the "Daley Thompson" brand, i.e their approval was needed on licensing Daley Thompson's name in this game.
Not necessarily.StooB wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:19 pm There are two other Adidas games, https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=85 and https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=87 .
Does an advertiser only become a licensor when their name is in the title?
Right now, searching for licenses related to Adidas in ZXDB will also bring up all 3 titles, since this information was imported from WoS. However I think this should be corrected.StooB wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:19 pmClicking on Adidas at WoS brings up all three titles: http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseek ... loadpics=3
The player has to choose the correct Adidas footwear for each event. It is part of the game, not just in the background.Einar Saukas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 7:57 pmAdidas is not part of the theme, just background advertising dissociated with the gameplay. I don't think it should be marked as tie-in in this case.StooB wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:19 pm There are two other Adidas games, https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=85 and https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=87 .

What about Chewits, Skips, Dunlop tyres, Suzuki, Wimpy, Burger King, Toyota and Lotus cars? Do those brands make their games more fun? Your logic is inconsistent!Einar Saukas wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 12:06 pm Sorry but I still think that's also Adidas advertising, not something they included in the gameplay to make the game more fun.
Lotus cars, definitely. People would buy a race game saying "it's so cool I will drive a LOTUS CAR!" That's a licensed tie-in.
