The Hobbit 128K is mistitled "Hobbit 128" in the archive, so it doesn't show up if you search for "The Hobbit".

Enduro Racer (https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 96&id=1628) has the comment "motorbike racing", pretty irrelevant, seems a leftover from and early indexation attempt or an import from another source.

Terrahawks by CRL.

It says the tie-in licence is from a TV show produced by Gerry Anderson and Christopher Burrs.

Is Burr instead:

Comments from old WoS indicate that Professional BMX Simulator is an enhanced version of BMX Simulator. Is this information wrong? It's only the enhanced version of BMX Simulator 2, correct?

Also it says the "BMX Simulator" series titles are BMX Simulator, BMX Simulator 2, Professional BMX Simulator. Do you think it would be better to swap the order of the last 2 titles, or remove one of them from the series?

Yes, those comments are incorrect. The original BMX Simulator is a different game written by different people. Professional BMX Simulator/BMX Simulator 2 is by the Oliver Twins, which is why it's hosted here and the original isn't.

I'm not sure you can call Professional BMX an "enhanced" version of BMX 2, as it was released first. BMX 2 is a cut-down release of Professional BMX - other than the number of levels and the title, the games themselves are identical.

The series should just be BMX Simulator and Professional BMX. BMX Simulator 2 should be release #3 of Professional BMX.

The Famous Five (Spectrum Version)

Release date should be 1991 - two reviews are from June 1991 and one from August 1991. The Crash review from November 1990 is for the Sam Coupe version and should be moved on to that page.

This one came to me via David Walford and relates to:

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 6&id=34361

I have a few minor corrections for "Xenoxxx Funtime Show", ID 34361.

Firstly, it was originally released in 2017 (not 2018) via this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEWNvoLL8Ws

Secondly, please could you add me as one of the authors, and add
"Arbitrary Files (UK)" as the publisher? My game page link is below for
verification purposes:

http://arbitraryfiles.com/games/xfs/index.html

Thank you, and please let me know if you need any further information.

Reyes y Castillos https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 96&id=4134 is not "Arcade: Action" more like "Strategic Game: Management", what do you think Juan F. Ramirez ?

Also, there is no original copy of the game. Both versions are cracked in Uruguay with possible alterations of the text. Might be a good idea to note this on the comments.

I clearly see an strategy component there (buy cannons, recruit warriors, ...). It 'weights' more than the action component.

8BitAG wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 8:50 am The date of release for Crystal of Chantie should be 1985 not 1987.
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 96&id=6117

Although the 1987 date matches the associated magazine review, it was advertised multiple times in magazine classified sections from 1985 onwards. (Some of which are already linked to the game's page).

e.g. Sinclair User, July 1985 (second entry down)
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/mag.php ... 9&page=130

Furthermore, the author's own (archived) site says he wrote it prior to the other Pelagon Software titles.
https://web.archive.org/web/20141104060 ... /page3.htm

Presumably the 1987 on the loading screen corresponds with a specific re-release of the game, probably the edition that was reviewed in Your Sinclair.

[Edit: I've emailed the author to ask if there was an earlier edition of Chantie, perhaps programmed in a similar system to his other two games, before he made a version with GAC... That seems fairly likely to me and would explain the two dates.]
Just to confirm the details on this. There was an original 1985 version of Crystal of Chantie.

The author later reworked the game, in 1987, using the Graphical Adventure Creator. So, yes, there were two completely different versions of the title and it's the later one that was reviewed in Your Sinclair, and references in the hints & tips sections of Sinclair User. (But the earlier version that the magazine adverts refer to).

Centi-Bugs (DK'Tronics):

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=865

It's got 'Centibug' as alternate name ('Also known as'). But according to the loading screen, couldn't be also known as 'Centipede'?

Night Gunner (Spectrum Version)

- 1982 Sinclair User review is for a 16K Spectrum version, rather than the 48k, and means the original release year should be 1982
- there should be a link to the ZX81 version
- the Silverbird release is in the wrong position and the Byte Back date of 1983 is incorrect. The order should be:

Original: Digital Integration 1982 (16K version), price £4.95 according to SU review
#1 Digital Integration 1983 (48K version)
#1 ABC 1983
#2 Zafi Chip 1986
#3 Z-Cobra 1987
#4 Silverbird 1989
#5 Byte Back 1991 (©1991 Byte Back is printed on the cassette: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/HOkAAOSw ... -l1600.jpg)

Night Gunner (ZX81 16K)

- there should be a link to the Spectrum version
- the author of this version is David K Marshall according to this Retro Gamer Interview

Fighter Pilot (ZX81 16K) - needs a new entry

- the same page as the 16K Night Gunner review also has a review of the ZX81 version of Fighter Pilot
- released by Digital Integration in 1982 with a price of £5.95 (from the Sinclair User review)
- author is David K Marshall again (from the Retro Gamer interview)
- should have a link to the Spectrum version.

An interesting case, I think:

Kentilla, by Micromega. Coded by Derek Brewster. The instructions refers to Velnor's Lair (also by the same author):

"[...] As the world rejoiced, other sinister plans were afoot. VELNOR - the
evil sorcerer long-since vanquished for the black arts he practised
(see VELNOR'S LAIR from Quicksilva) - was planning revenge.
[...]"

Can we considered Kentilla as the sequel to Velnor's Lair (and create a series with both games)?

Some time ago I've sent by e-mail some corrections to the database and then I was sent the link to this topic as it would be the best place to talk about these small changes.
I've since forgotten about it, but now that I've opened an account here, I thought maybe now we could take care of that.

So, I'll be giving some more details about games I was directly involved with:

Varina - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 6&id=34618
André Leão - Beta Tester, Promoter, Manager (don't know if these last two can be accepted on the database)
Filipe Veiga - Graphics, Code
Mário Viegas - Game Design, Screen Art
Pedro Pimenta - Music

Droid Buster - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 6&id=34679
Ariel Endaraues - Game Design, Code
Juan Antonio Fernandez - Screen Art
Pedro Pimenta- Music

Moritz Strikes Back - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 6&id=34680
Andy Green (2) - Screen Art
Pedro Pimenta - Music
Sebastian Braunert - Game design
Uwe Geiken - Art, Code

Also, how can a new game be added to the database? I'd like to add "The Hair-Raising Adventures of Mr. Hair" that you can find here: https://chopz.itch.io/the-hair-raising- ... of-mr-hair

If you decide to add it, I can already give the credits:
Andy Green (2) - Screen Art
Lee Stevenson - Game Design, Code
Pedro Pimenta - Music

Cheers. I've already got this in the queue to add as part of the next update. They happen every couple of weeks, more or less.

Interesting finding, and I was thinking that this might be one of the first games to include an ingame editor?

Melbourne House must have thought so as the adverts describe it as a "unique customizing feature". I can only find one earlier example and that's Munchkin from 1981 - but that was for the Magnavox Odyssey.

Time Gate

Was released in 1982, not 1983. It's at No. 1 in the Spectrum charts in the last week of 1982.
