Database model ZXDB

Post by Einar Saukas » Thu Nov 23, 2017 2:56 am

ZXDB is an "open" database model that catalogues Spectrum (and other Sinclair-related) material including software, hardware, books, magazines, etc.

It contains the entire information content from both Martijn's original WoS archive and Grimwood's SPOT/SPEX, plus thousands of new titles, plus dozens of thousands of corrections, fixes, additional details and improvements. It's also closely integrated with ZXSR, RZX Archive, ZX81 Stuff, CASA, MobyGames, Speccy Screenshot Maps, and ZX-Art. Both Spectrum Computing and ZXInfo currently use ZXDB directly, also ZX-Art imports ZXDB content periodically.

All ZXDB updates will be announced in this thread. Stay tuned!

A new version of ZXDB is available here!

This update contains a few recent releases and previously missing titles.

It also contains several links to CASA that were missing. Many thanks to Thomas for organizing this information!

Technically, this update also contains an improvement on table "labels". There's now a new column "labels.labeltype_id", intended to replace both columns "labels.is_company" and "labels.companytype_id". For now, I'm keeping all these columns in ZXDB, thus websites can have enough time to adapt accordingly. In a later release, both these columns will be eliminated. As usual, please contact me if you need any support on this!

A better in-game screen for Sophia.

Also please update the description by adding the Russian and Swedish language versions.
