I did, yes. But it went into my Junk folder so only found it after it arrived!

I know it's been said elsewhere but blimey the Next is physically lovely in the flesh. It does look and feel like a Spectrum, and the modern concessions are all hidden away discretely. The size is surprisingly small too, but not cramped. Bloody lovely. Rick Dickinson left us something very beautiful.

Mike C says:

"Are you looking at images of people receiving their Next's and feeling down, because you're still waiting on yours?

Another batch of accelerated models is due to be collected by our logistics partner tomorrow. They will then speed out into your hands.

Again, this is fulfilment to UK addresses only at this point. Deep apologies to those who live further afield but we will get to you, we promise.

If you are in the UK, and your backer number is between 1304 and 2406 (inclusive), you're in the list. Shipping information and the emails should start arriving on Tuesday/Wednesday.

We can't wait to see your unboxing photos!"

Are Spectrum Nexts considered essential deliveries, then? ;)

The SMS factory has not been advised to shut down. They make all kinds of electronics including medical equipment.

Regarding the lack of emails, these are coming directly from the courier. A lot have been disappearing into spam folders, and even more have been rejected by people’s email servers. It seems that Yodel’s SMTP server is not trusted by some cloud email services, maybe because of how their DNS is configured. Also some people have reported the email arrived after the package did.

My surprise treat with mine was when playing with the included software I found the 'Nextel' rolling pages demo includes a piece of my Teletext art! I am officially famous.

I'm not sure deliveries have to be essential. The likes of Amazon, John Lewis and online retailers are operating as normal (or as close as possible) with online.

Obviously safety of staff must be a priority, and must not disrupt any essential deliveries.

If SMS are also making medical equipment which contributes to the worldwide efforts, I'm sure all of us would have been happy to wait longer.

In the corners of the cardboard support where the machine sits? That’s what mine was like.

Having not followed the progress of the Next, I was pleased to see a 28MHz mode being added to the 'day zero' update. (I tried it out of the box without doing the update first). Seeing a BASIC programme zip along at 8x speed on the telly is quite a thing!

Yes, exactly. So the machine moved around in the box. Seems OK though. Would like a perfect box for my OCD!
