Hi 8BitAG,

I'm sure druellan will give a definitive answer, but I would assume If they have not got the 'Reviewed' mark at the bottom that he is aware they have not been done yet. There is only druellan reviewing these.

Keep posting them though. It's good good stuff.

PS. Enjoying your book by the way.

Hi! No, just leave them there, I need to revisit this thread, I'm right now busy with the missing information for Players Software Rorthron uncovered on the "Cover Artist" thread (*). Einar is also roaming the thread making fixes. We mark everything we are working on with a "Reviewed" tag, that way we can go back and check if we missed something.

I have also some old fixes I need to revisit that are currently marked as Reviewed but didn't make it into the database for some reason, like this one viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1425&p=28636#p28636 So, as soon I finish with Players I'm going to jump back here. In the meantime everything is documented here, it is just a matter of time but it will be added to the database.

(*) We are basically filling up everything we can find about the authors, based on the ingame credits and instructions, including teams, nicknames and roles:

Fair enough... with the information being submitted over a year and a half ago, I just presumed it had been overlooked.

Starstrike II

has re-releases from ZCobra of Spain and Cobra of Russia. Cobra's only other releases were in 1997, so this is probably an error.

Hi Alone Coder,

Can you recommend an emulator which has support for these machines such as the ATM (ATM Turbo)?

Thanks

Yes, as Einar says, that post was later followed up with this one viewtopic.php?p=28954#p28954 when Gary Power confirmed that he made one version of the game in BASIC and one using GAC. http://8bitag.com/info/pelagon.html

Author request for Empareja 35780.

Change the author to 'Eddie The Wild' (4203), his nickname.

Add comment "A preliminary version was submitted to Bytemaniacos 2006 BASIC Contest."

(This is because the downloadable file will be replaced by a slightly different one).

Castle Colditz by Felix Software was a 1983 release, not 1984

as shown by the multiple advertising referenced on the game page.

Also...

the ZX81 16K version is missing from the ZXDB.

Links to ACE and MicroHobby aren't currently working.

ACE:

The issue number is currently specified as 3 digits but it should be 2 digits eg:

Code: Select all

Current view link is https://archive.org/stream/ace-magazine-016/ACE_Issue_016_1989_Jan#page/n116/mode/1up
Correct view link is https://archive.org/stream/ace-magazine-16/ACE_Issue_16_1989_Jan#page/n116/mode/1up
This applies to download links as well.

Microhobby:

View links are missing '.pdf' and have details repeated eg:

Code: Select all

Current view link is https://archive.org/stream/microhobby-magazine-056#page/n38/mode/1up/MicroHobby_056#page/n38/mode/1up
Correct view link is https://archive.org/stream/microhobby-magazine-056.pdf/MicroHobby_056#page/n38/mode/1up
Download links are fine as they are.

Note that the second reference to the magazine doesn't seem to be necessary; the following links give the exact same result:

Code: Select all

https://archive.org/stream/ace-magazine-16/ACE_Issue_16_1989_Jan#page/n116/mode/1up

Pole Position

The inlay PolePosition(ErbeSoftwareS.A.).jpg is a slightly better copy of the US Gold inlay, while the inlay PolePosition(IBSA).jpg is an Erbe inlay.

The instructions PolePosition(IBSA).pdf are Erbe instructions.

The zip file PolePosition(IBSA).tzx.zip contains Pole Position (Erbe - Serie Leyenda).tzx.

There doesn't seem to be an IBSA version from 1988 at all.

IBSA is a sort of ERBE second label. It always contains the 'Serie Leyenda' seal. So in this case, it seems it's really the IBSA inlay as it has the SL seal. Something similar happens with Gremlin's Avenger, for example.

And the Erbe inlay being too similar to the US Gold one, it seems Erbe published it with the same inlay than in the UK in those early years. Only the instructions were in spanish.

SPA2, the main spanish Spectrum archive and a very reliable source, considers all the files like they are here (it provided spanish stuff to WoS, hence the coincidence):

https://spa2.speccy.org/spanish/p.htm

There are two different instructions (Erbre & Ibsa) as well as two inlays.

All programs in this tape are Spanish translations from 16/48 Tape Magazine, except for "Libano" apparently. I added them all to ZXDB, they will appear in the next update.
