2354|Hostages
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/2 ... m/Hostages

Has a "PC 88" signature. It might be Philippe Campion, mentioned in the credits in the rear cover, but not in the instructions, which say:
"ORIGINAL IDEA: Philippe AGRIPNIDIS
SCENARIO: Philippe AGRIPNIDIS, Pascal BUREL, Daniel CHARPY,
Eric MOTTET, Najib EL MAADANI, Josyane GIRARD,
Tuan DO CAO
PROGRAMMING: Daniel CHARPY, Pascal BUREL, Najib EL MAADANI,
Tuan DO CAO, Philippe CAMPION
MAIN GRAPHICS: Josyane GIRARD
GRAPHICS: Didier CHANFRAY, Dominique GIROU

AMSTRAD, SPECTRUM and MSX versions: NEW FRONTIER SOFTWARE

PROGRAMMING: Isidro GILABERT
GRAPHICS: Juan José FRUTOS & Alberto José GONZALEZ
MUSIC: Alberto José GONZALEZ"

Not all these credits are recorded in the archive.

3460|North and South: Willy Lambillotte ("Lambil")?
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/3 ... orth_South

The game is a licensed adaptation of the comic Les Tuniques Bleus, and the cover seems to come from the comic. However, there is no signature or credit confirming that the artist is the same as the comic.

Has same (but partial) signature.
There is a French illustrator Patrick Nahon, who uses the NAMS name and signature. He might well be the same person, but I haven't found confirmation. His current signature is different from the one on the Infogrames covers, but he could easily have changed it in the last 20-odd years.

I think I'm starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel, so it's probably a good time to stop and let druellan catch up!

Spider Man

Cover art is by Al Milgrom, according to the cover of the original release and inside of the Americana re-release.

This is the American Al Milgrom, and not the Australian Alfred Milgrom already in the database.

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/5 ... evos_World
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/5 ... os_Whirled

These involved a bit of investigation. The inlay credits refer to SB Graphics, which was a Birmingham graphics design firm that no longer exists. There are also some signatures (which look like "Bren" and "M Rea/McRea"). In the end I was able to track down "Bren" (Brendan McMahon, the real "Bren the mapmaker" from Dun Darach), and he kindly confirmed all the above information by email.

Many thanks to Brendan.

With the aim of speeding up the process, I have collated all the data in this thread into a spreadsheet. It has three lists:

1. uncontroversial and checked cover artists, which can be uploaded directly to ZXDB, without any further review (unless you want to check the right numerical IDs have been applied);
2. cover artists where there is any element of uncertainty or incompletion (even if very slight); and
3. titles with additional credits (other than cover artist).

(Note the third list overlaps with the other two.)

I've emailed it to PeterJ to pass on to druellan .

This should mean the artists in the first list (104 in total) can be put straight into ZXDB en masse. druellan can then work through the others at his leisure.

Gnasher by R&R Software was coded by 'J. Nixon' and, according to the instructions, 'Sleeve Illustration by Jonathan Nixon'.

It seems he coded and also drew the cover of the original inlay (the Mastertronic re-release cover is different).
