Each Software Magazine entry is classified as "covertape". I'm guessing these tapes were sold in newsstands together with simplified printed magazines somewhat like Load'n'Run. Correct?
Most covertape entries are split like 2A and 2B. What does it mean?
a) Perhaps each printed magazine "number 2" had two tapes 2A and 2B?
b) Or perhaps the same printed magazine "number 2" could be bought with either tape 2A or tape 2B?
c) Or perhaps there was a corresponding printed magazine "number 2A" for tape 2A, and a different printed magazine "number 2B" for tape 2B?

No. They have different cassette inlays.

Re: Software Magazine?
A similar publication of them, 'Tus Juegos' included two tapes each issue, a game each side, four games in total: 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D as per this advert:

So by the same analogy, Software Magazine's 2A and 2B might be issue 2, tape A and issue 2 tape B.
There's no much more info on the net. In this site in spanish, there's a list of issues ('Núm') at the end, speaking of some games each issue.
It seems 2A and 2B means issue 2, tape A - tape B, but as I said before, there's no much info to confirm it.
